Sequencing on this by itself seems to require using the Berlin School technique to maximize usage. After glancing at the comments I kinda feel bad for you, 'cause you were being honest, as you seem to gravitate towards a more traditional / straightforward 16-step DJ sequencer. I can dig that, which is why I'm also planning to get the Toraiz SP-16 when I pick this one up (they play _very_ well with each other) 😸

Couldn't you sequence it from the 707 or the electribe? Also, could you then record in those sequences to the toraiz if you wanted then baked in?

Hey psys thanks for the lovey-dovey. I'll see about more 411 on the interwebs but until then here are some zen delay feedbacks... the filter kinda sucks, it sounds wishy-washy to me. It's great but that filter is vague and not tunable. I haven't used the 16 much yet but on synths, the reverse isn't very astounding and that's maybe the main attraction of it. But experiments continue!

Yeah this things is ka-whack! Right now I am using it as a bass enhancer, the fuzz is awesome but the filter does not affect much lower in frequency. And the reverb turns into mush almost right away... but this thing is the fresh poo for sure.

@@djpewpew hahaha...Yeah wasn't a fan of the reverb either, but the Synth engine is like a single oscillator which can do a lot of crazy damage. Plan to send in my new Erica synth Syntrix 2 into this bad guy and then into the Erica synth zen delay. that's going to be a right jam soon! thanks. yeah love this thing. the fuzz is great and the paint on this metal is impressive. I can't wait for some more new stuff from you. thanks.

Talk about an Ableton portable. This thing takes batteries so it's portable. |t will export Ableton-compatible tracks. You could use this as a sequencer for external hardware, recording midi to its 16 tracks for storage and playback as performance with or without using its internal sounds. It features 16 tracks on which you can place any combination of drum sounds or synth patches. you aren't limited to what goes where. it will record 64 steps, as 4 banks of 16 steps, and has a chain mode feature on the most recent software updates, so you chain another 64 steps to follow on from the first. The screen keeps you informed, so its easy to select a sound category and from that select the drum sample, or synth patch. It has loads of filter types, as well as some decent built-in effects. The synth sounds can be tweaked 'live' using the knobs controlling the ADSR parameters. you can build patterns as step time, eg one note at a time, or press record and play your notes/drums in real time. Despite its appearance, this is not a toy. This is a serious synth with a sequencer and drums built in. Be warned the electribe2 comes in two versions, the sampler version which can record sounds, and the regular version with fixed sounds.

Hey just so you know..the H4n can be used as a 48k interface to your computer…you can use what you have and track separately but just using the 2 channels at a time but you can do it..I have a H4n also and I used it that way a couple times in the past 15 years but that thing is great and it’s still working! Let me know if I can help…😉

I'm guiessing its all about your existing gear integration .. I'm probably gogin to get one of these ... wont have the issues you are having ( seems you dont want to control over midi ) ... but that just because it will be controlled over midi by other gear .. I had a Mopho, swapped it for a Prophet 08 .. but want that mono with Sub osc back again.. and this looks to fill that slot ..

Not to buy : filtre and amplitude env are the same, and not ADSR just AD 😢 Not so powerfull (CPU) you wil quicly touch the top and have issues. Strict quantisation Poor memory capacity Only 4 bar Impossible to record while playing chained patterns. No reverb per part, only in master FX Horrific Sample management What IS good : Battery Easy to start Can be found for low Price now

Once upon a time in the quaint little town of Peculiar Pines, there was a cozy café named "Scoops and Spoons." It was renowned for its delectable soups, served with love and a sprinkle of mystery. Mrs. Fiddlesticks, the eccentric owner, believed that a dash of the unexpected always added flavor to life. One blustery afternoon, as the aroma of chicken noodle soup wafted through the air, a curious event unfolded. Reggie, a regular at Scoops and Spoons, eagerly ordered his usual bowl of hearty soup. He was always the first to arrive and the last to leave, relishing every spoonful of Mrs. Fiddlesticks' culinary creations. With a gleam in his eye and a rumble in his stomach, Reggie took his first spoonful of soup. But to his horror, amidst the savory broth and tender chicken pieces, there it was-a toenail! Shocked and appalled, Reggie nearly dropped his spoon into the bowl. "Goodness gracious me!" he exclaimed, his voice echoing through the café. Mrs. Fiddlesticks, ever the enigmatic hostess, hurried over to Reggie's table, her apron fluttering behind her like a flag of culinary conquest. "What seems to be the problem, dear Reggie?" she inquired, her eyes twinkling with mischief. Reggie, still recovering from the toe-tally unexpected encounter, pointed a trembling finger at the offending object in his soup. "There's a toenail in my soup!" he exclaimed, his voice a mixture of disbelief and dismay. Mrs. Fiddlesticks peered into the bowl, her lips forming a thoughtful pout. "Ah, yes, I see it now," she said, nodding sagely. "A toenail indeed." Reggie stared at her, dumbfounded. "But... but how did it get there?" he stammered. Mrs. Fiddlesticks leaned in conspiratorially, her voice barely above a whisper. "Ah, my dear Reggie, that's the secret ingredient! A toenail adds just the right amount of... je ne sais quoi to the flavor profile." Reggie blinked, unsure whether to laugh or cry. "But... but I don't want a toenail in my soup!" Mrs. Fiddlesticks chuckled, a twinkle of mischief dancing in her eyes. "Oh, Reggie, you always were a stickler for tradition. But I assure you, once you get past the initial shock, you'll find it quite... toe-licking good!" With a theatrical flourish, she whisked the bowl away, leaving Reggie to ponder the mysteries of Scoops and Spoons. And as Reggie sat there, contemplating the absurdity of it all, he couldn't help but shake his head and mutter under his breath, "Blah blah blah blah." For in the world of Mrs. Fiddlesticks' café, where the unexpected lurked in every spoonful, sometimes the only response was to embrace the madness and let the flavors speak for themselves.

Thank you for this excellent video! This little gem makes me want to pull out my credit card, but I already bought the VST through Roland Cloud that also features the 'ACB' technology. What are the purely sonic differences between the hardware TR-06 and the VST version? Wouldn't it be redundant if I were to purchase the TR-06 in this case?

I got this 4 years ago, together with the sampler version, and i really like the synth version, but almost never used the sampler. The stock sounds are not a problem, but samples on the memory card has to be loaded in before you can listen to it, which is VERY inconvenient when you have 30.000 samples on your memory card, and try to find a good one, lol... Back then i had only barely tried designing my own drum sounds on the E2, before i gave up way too quickly. I really should have practiced some more, because the E2 is AWESOME for making drum sounds - and if i had known how "easy" it is, i could have had a lot of fun by sampling it onto the E2... These days i have Maschine MK3, so dont really need the E2S for sampling, but it is still nice to have if i want to make music outdoors. If anyone wants to enhance their Electribes, they really should consider learning to make stuff in NI Reaktor. The arpeggiator on the E2 is really cool for basslines and drum patterns, but it cant play melodies - so today i made one in Reaktor, that records the notes i punch in on the E2, and programs up to 16 steps/notes into the arpeggiator. It is almost finished, and just needs a few finishing touches, before ill start working on adding modulations (3x envelopes, 3x LFOs, and 1x step sequencer) that i can send to any parameter on the E2. Normally the pads only play a single track/oscillator at once, but i suspect this is a pretty easy fix, by making Reaktor receive the note info from the pads i play, and route it to other tracks on the E2, and suddenly i can play several tracks/layers at once. Once all this is finished, the E2 is gonna seem like much more expensive synths - only those dont have 16 oscillators and 55 waveforms
