Great idea! The only problem with your mod is that you are leaving the polarity switch loose inside the case right next to the pedal action! I set the socket hole as low as I could to prevent the TRS pin from contacting the polarity swith board and gained more clearance for the contacts on the jack to prevent grounding out. The polarity switch remains on the bottom cover where it belongs.
