You can definitely use your own method. I like to use a mud wash or two. My advice is dont pick the white one, because when you scratch or sand too deep, it's white and doesn't really look right

I have an mn82 too, bought fully metal suspension, chassis, bigger wheels, 370 engine instead of stock 280, metal gearbox, all driveshafts, hydraulic shocks, metal bumpers, tow winch. And u call this modifying?)

Interesting video, but you've got a few things and dates confused, like the difference between remote control, radio control and neither (those gas powered RTP and rail track cars had no outside control at all, it was strictly a speed contest). The first gas-powered model cars emerged in California in about 1937 and the first rail track for these cars shortly before WW2. The first known slot car set was released by Lionel in 1912, although guidance was more of a rail system; other systems, none very successful, followed in the 30s, 40s and 50s, then British electric rail racing clubs appeared in 1955, and Scalextric and VIP slot racing sets in 1957 (not to mention a one-lane system from the German company BUB in 1953). There were plenty of R/C ships, boats and cars pretty early on, but they were very expensive and I don't think any were commercially produced. Early 60s sounds about right for that. R/C started taking over from slot cars in the 70s, but slots never disappeared and have enjoyed a few revivals since then, just like slot cars should have replaced the RTP (Round the Pole) cars, but a few tracks still exist. Didn't know about Marconi's submarine - fantastic!

Wasn't there an entire era of RC toys that predated radio control? Like back in the 50's, the remotes were wired directly to the cars. Imagine running after your RC car connected by a tether, lol
