My impression is not an overall bad one of Stephen's public impression, but I can't help but feel like he was definitely a lame stereotype of a real self absorbed and egotistical artist/musician. Didn't watch this one yet, but in the 2000 interview he references so many songs talking about their political/cultural relevances as the answer to nearly every question.. As if they aren't just well written songs from a rock band in the grand scheme. I guess there are other subtle aspects to why he rubbed me that way in the interview, but it's hard to put it to words at the moment. It's just a level of presumption that anybody asked for a rock band to write a song about some recent event, as if people needed to know or that you feel like it helps your brand as a musical act/creative individual. Assume that your audience IS intelligent enough to consume your product. Let the songs do the talking. Going into interviews to bang the song's meanings/external usage intentions over the consumer/listener's head is very try-hard and self absorbed. "Well, y'see, Surprise Subway Quickie references the NY rape epidemic of 1996, y'know, uhhh, that was our answer at the time"... Maybe it's the implication that someone writing a song is going to stop some hobo from putting a knife to a woman's throat and stop him from having his way with her or something? Any time a musician speaks in those ways it's off putting and seems very tone-deaf and self serving more than anything. More like they're checking off a songwriting challenge checklist in their head. "Anti-rape song... Check... Anti-war song... Check.... Anti-bullying song.. Check... Hmmmmm.... Is our band closer to being as involved in world affairs as U2 yet?" lol. I still love a lot of their songs, and Stephen's probably overall a good dude even if he puts his foot in his mouth without realizing it a lot due to ego/selfishness/self-absorption, but still had to say this. Even as a fellow artsy fartsy guy who probably has some of those qualities to a lesser degree. This interview seems more laid back than the 2000 one. Less like he's trying to sell a brand, and more like a dude. "Who cares if they're pretending to be 16th century?" "Let's face it.... Hansen rocks" ...... Ok.... Maybe a bit of a goofy boob, but he ain't that bad.. Is he.. ? lol..

1998 was good times party city for KoRn. This was the KoRn I was introduced to and fell in love with. A remarkable and pinnacle milestone for the band before things started to shift when "Issues" was being written in 1999. Interesting history.

I love the transitions between AM and Harlan Ellison almost as if the video is saying that they aren't that different from each other.

The noise that you hear is a guitar's efect. The bass line is a little loud. But It's a really live take of a difficult song and it souds epic

This camera work is extremely rough with a lot of distortion of Jeff Beck. Thank goodness one can hear Jeff Beck clearly! The second half is also distorted with some good film of Jeff when he played with Rodd Stewart on a train, in the USA but no Stew here!! I think the distortion film is a film of a film so am glad to HEAR this, what ever it looks like. Thank you! Cynthia B Allen-McLaglen
