There is no way this is Mr Tambourine Man. Clarke is clearly bashing away on the hi hat which isnt in Mr Tambourine Man. He's also playing a "Satisfaction" or "She Dont Care About Time" type beat. Also Gene takes a solo vocal near the end and waves his arm to crash down on the last note. Cover perhaps? Im at a loss. Its killing me though. Ken

great! side note-- wouldn't it be entertaining experimenting with multitrack jams in Bandhub x) I typically can play classical guitar; You and I can unite at the site! This should be rad!

What a favor he did us by tearing down the society the WWII generation had built to usher in the era of sex and drugs and rock and roll and its being cool to be a communist. Chairman Mao was groovy, man! Pass that joint ...
@9ertsch7 жыл бұрын
Some of the WWII generation helped McGuinn and co. to tear it down, let's not forget (for example, psychedelic pioneer Timothy Leary, who served in a branch of the US Air Force during hostilities, or Joseph Beuys, the radical German performance artist, who was a 'Stuka' gunner in the Luftwaffe). Generational divides are never hard and clean.

For pity's sake... I'm as passionately anti la-la land regressive leftie as the next sane person but part of that pre-60s "society" needed tearing down. Or are you against civil rights and equality? Maybe you think that we should lock up all the gays too?
@THEScottCampbell4 жыл бұрын
McGuinn has always been compassionately conservative in almost every way. He was never pro-Communist and was constantly derided by Crosby for not being a radical. McGuinn was opposed to racial bias, as was Richard Nixon. He always had the utmost respect and love for his parents. You are reading things into his statements that just aren't there.
@THEScottCampbell12 жыл бұрын
A great example of why McGuinn was THE coolest guy on Earth in 1965. The Beatles realised that, as did almost everyone who met him at the time. Oddly enough, he still IS.

This is The Candymen, who were Orbison's backing band (Bobby Goldsboros too) and had gone out on their own by this time. They put out two pretty decent albums in 1967/68, but never really broke through (though "Georgia Pines" may have reached the lower rung of the Top 40). A couple of members joined forces with some ex-members of The Classics IV and became The Atlanta Rhythm Section.

@MrBEB123 That song had nothing to do with Reagan. It was written by McGuinn as a comment on how poorly they were received by Ralph Emery and his audience at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville in 1968.

I have a copy of this song from the Canadian "Les Tetes Blanches", sung in english. This could be them but I'm not sure. BTW how many of those bands had singers that acted ridiculous. Ever seen Mick Jagger?
@fulcisminions15 жыл бұрын
@dontgd I wouldn't listen to Kenny G if you paid me. I listen to the Chocolate Watch Band, Electric Prunes, Doors, Stones, Jefferson Airplane, Pink Floyd, Love, Beatles, and other classic rock, psych and garage bands. If you think that those groups are square, I don't where your head is at. If I really hated this video, I wouldn't have bothered uploading it. Their sound is good, I just think that the lead singer looks silly with his stupid expressions.
