Nicely done - a good example of a transfer job. One thing is that you probably should set some handbrakes on that cut you dropped off - can’t depend too much on those air brakes ;)

Very true! What's funny is that I always remember to set handbrakes on cars when I'm in TSW 5, but I always forget to do that in Run8. Thanks for watching!

did you change some graphic settings or something? your run8 is looking crisp!
@Ootlander15 күн бұрын
It's one of the newest routes, so makes sense it'll look the best/most detailed.
@trainsplanesandgames112 күн бұрын
I haven't changed any settings in Run8. I do record at a higher screen resolution so that may be the reason it looks so crisp.

How do you know where each train needs to go? I'm starting out in dispatching on Run8 and can't seem to find a schedule or something for each train number
@trainsplanesandgames119 күн бұрын
I use the list of train symbols on the Depot's website which provides the train symbol, where it originated from, where it's going, and in some cases where it will start and end on the map. Because train symbols are constantly changing in the real world, it's not a complete list, but it's a good reference to help you out. Train Symbol List: www.thedepotserver.com/reference/trainsymbols/

It’s the tags. They tell you. You can find the train symbols on the depot server website. For example on socal the train labeled M-BARBAK is a manifest train that starts at Barstow and goes to BNSF Bakersfield via the Mojave subdivision

Looks like a good sim, sadly it doesn't have any UK routes.

Dispatching in Run8 definitely has a lot of similarities to Rail Route.

It's a great region! Even though it's the smallest one on Run8 so far, it still has a lot of stuff to do.

Why is the mouse off from where your clicking?
@trainsplanesandgames17 ай бұрын
I was wondering the same thing as it only happens with MSFS recordings and not other simulators. After some research, I discovered that MSFS was using a higher 16:9 full screen resolution than what OBS is set to, resulting in the mouse being off from where I was actually clicking. The settings in in the sim have been updated to match OBS, and the mouse will now be in the correct location on the next MSFS video. Thanks for watching!

I had no idea a train simulator with this level of sophistication existed. I ran msts for many years back a while - still have my expensive controller to prove it. Run8 looks fascinating! Where does one start?
@trainsplanesandgames17 ай бұрын
Starting with just the base Run8 sim for $50 USD is a great way to start. It contains a large section of the Southwest Region around Barstow, CA for you to explore, and also provides a few different types of locomotives and freight cars for you to use. That way, you’ll have enough content to enjoy, and enough track to try out all the features that Run8 has, but not too much content so you’re able to learn and get used to Run8 as a simulator. After you become familiar with Run8, that’s when I’d recommend getting other DLC. The learning curve may be steep at the start, but it’s very rewarding and a lot of fun after practice.
