Did you ever have an arise after use for a couple of weeks ? hub loose on steer shaft ? Was there a slight off set on the hub to steer shaft when 179H was installed where the Bolt threads in was it flush Steer Shaft and 179h ? I been having some loose wheel issues and even using locate on bolt the 179h has some loose quality on the Steer Shaft which is not safe the bolt is tight but the 179h is rocking left and right on the shaft before wheel engages locking the shaft for rotation

@@ChaosCarClub I even ordered another 179H hub and it was same. - I did see one another video and clearly the shaft does sit recessed slightly maybe .25" inside the hub ( hub does not sit flush down on the shaft )so that gave me some comfort but with all the torque I can give I still have very slight left/ right movement on the wheel before the Shaft turns ( rocking or clocking before biting ) which gives me discomfort I love the set up when was installed as got a few weeks out of it and was using a quick dis hub also and adjusted quickly to the difference in lever depth just possibly going to reinstall the oem wheel and see if it fits tight or did i damage the shaft at all while removing my oem wheel or driving with a not to tight fit hub - keep you posted thanks for your quick response

For anyone stumbling on this video nowadays. Vipers need to have rake. Meaning the front needs to be lower than the back for proper handling. Most owners agree about 1” of difference between the front and rear as measured from the frame between the center point of the tires is ideal for most situations. Dodge recommends a 1.5” difference for the ACR for instance. Setting your ride height by wheel gap alone will mess up the cars handling compared to one with proper rake.

@@user-cy3tr8eu8t thank you so much for the info. I pinned your comment so hopefully others will see it. Personally my car will never see track time so I’ll sacrifice a little function for the looks but definitely good info for those that want to retain optimal performance. Thanks again!!

@ChaosCarClub3 ай бұрын
Thanks for checking out the video. I have dampening set to the middle still (15 clicks) and I did end up adjusting the ride height. I had to raise the settings some to prevent rubbing in the rear. Height isn't necessarily a one size fits all. So you will have to play with that to determine your liking. I love this set up though. 15 year old suspension just wasn't what it used to be. So this is miles better.
