I just want to hear Felicity's policies. I don't care if Felicity is male or female. Stop making a big deal out of it! I'm sure Felicity can think for herself and be the wonderful unique person that she is with being held up as a 'woman' who is a 'role model' for other women. Newsflash....women like all men are different! The interviewer really needs to think a bit more about the questions she's asking, this has given me very little insight into how Felicity would act as a mayor and basically boils down to vote for her if think women are better!? How childish and superficial!

Isn’t the rest of the video on policies such as housing and transport? Seems to me like it’s a student broadcast so probably an issue that matters to students. Plenty more coverage on the candidates if you don’t like it, but does seem a pertinent issue across the country

Hi! Lizzie Teixeira (Community and Wellbeing Officer hopeful) here! I wasn't able to attend the Debate Night in person but here's what I would have answered to the following question prompts: 1) What do you see as the main issue affecting students' wellbeing today? "Unfortunately classism, fuel poverty and food insecurity is rife in the UK, and a decade's worth of progress in social mobility has been reversed with the most privileged becoming richer, better educated and more secure, often at the expense of disadvantaged communities who are experiencing record levels of mental health and financial hardships. According to the recent NUS For Our Future report (January 2024): 77% of students come from families whose wages have been severely impacted by the cost of living crisis 65% of students are limiting their food intake to cut costs, almost half of all students are experiencing a worsening in their mental health and 20% of working students have to work more than 20 hours a week to cover their cost of living. It is clear that the root cause of these issues is the cost of living crisis, so alleviating this by subsidizing food, travel and rent to the fullest extent possible will help the most affected students to thrive as they deserve." 2) What does community mean to you? "A strong community focuses on uplifting those that struggle the most and have been ignored or isolated the most; a strong community understands that no-one should benefit at another's expense and strives to create more avenues of empowerment for all marginalised groups in society so that we can tackle hate, inequity and intolerance in all its forms." 3) What makes you a unique candidate? "By June, I will be a fully qualified Domestic Energy Assessor and Retrofit Assessor and a fully trained Rapid Transformational Therapist and Coach with over 1 year's experience in combating fuel poverty amongst the most vulnerable households. These qualifications can take over 6 months of full-time study to complete and so no other candidate currently running can promise to offer what would otherwise be very expensive services for free like I can. Additionally, I have a deeper understanding of the housing crisis and planning permission restrictions - over 4300 construction firms went into administration in 2023 alone, and even if this wasn't the case, it will be impossible to house the numbers of students that York is planning to house in the upcoming academic year, so by making lectures hybrid or remote-friendly, not only will this reduce travel costs, this could reduce demand for rental properties and will put less pressure on students with mobility issues to come on-campus more often than they would like."

I love o̶n̶l̶y̶ c̶o̶n̶n̶e̶c̶t̶ the show that must not be named, and absolutely love this version of it. This was lovely and i will definitely keep watching if more episodes come out
