Hi! i just found one of these and i'm trying to clean/repair it. One piece of translucent orange/yellow plastic seems to have shattered in thousand pieces inside the handset, would it possible to have a picture with the pcb removed? Thx!

I never thought the original 3310 was also manufactured in South Korea. I clearly remember the 3390 (a US-spec 3310) was manufactured there, however, as for the 3310, I’ve only seen the ones that were made in Finland, Hungary or Germany. The Nokia logo on the front cover of your 3310 still looks a little bit different from what I have. It can either be a special trait of the Korean-made covers, or it’s because the logo size itself may vary depending on the manufacturing dates. I own a fully authentic Finnish-made 3310, with the original Navy Blue front and rear covers, and it seems like some covers had different logo proportions on them despite being fully authentic.

Quite possibly the code on the base represents week 41 of 1991. But don't quote on that. Not sure if it was in common practice back then, and I wasn't on that side of production.

It's not fake, it's refurbished with compatible, non original case , but of a good quality case. In the past, Nokia 3310 phones, used to be massively modified, the LEDs, the software, and in general about everything, so it might seem fake, but it's original, except that it was refurbished with what the seller had at hand .

Interesting to see that the phone has kept its original telephone number according to the installation sheet. I presume the 2 was added when they went to 7 digits
@KiwiKyle
@KiwiKyle Жыл бұрын
Yes from what I can gather the phone was in continuous use by the same subscriber from 1954 to the mid 1980s (and the phone still works well now) because the latest 7 digit dial card was from the 1980s - I kept all 3 of the dial cards and put them under the subscribers apparatus sheet for someone to find in future

In case anyone is wondering, the dial on this phone puts one pulse on the phone line if you dial 9, ten pulses on the line if you dial 0, and nine pulses on the line if you dial 1. To use this phone outside of New Zealand, you would have to dial 9 for 1, 8 for 2, etc. Nice phone, thanks for the video.
@KiwiKyle
@KiwiKyle Жыл бұрын
Thank you kindly for your comment, much appreciated :) I can further elaborate regarding New Zealand’s reverse dialling, the dial mechanism is actually exactly the same as that found in the UK, however the numbers printed on the dial plate are different, for example the 9 dials with 1 pulse and the 1 dials with 9 pulses. The reason for it was when the exchanges were connected together into a national automatic network back in the 1950s just over half the national telephone equipment had the reverse dial plate and so it was decided for reasons of economy to make the entire country reverse dial. People who had what we called ‘international dials’ with the number 332 for example had their dial plate swapped out and were assigned the number 778 I hope my explanation makes sense! 🙂
