This is sad. I live in Sacramento and yet I heard nothing about this event being held LAST week. The local news stations should all be reporting this news. Then again I stay away from the news now so I probably missed it.

That's because of differences in lighting that my camera is interpreting based off of where I'm looking at the jets relative to the sun. There is only one break in the video at around 2:15, the rest is one continuous take...

Was there for Saturday, what an amazing show! Was worried about the heat since the days before we were just getting battered with 105+ was pleasantly surprised to wake up and see it was cloudy out but was even more shocked once it started sprinkling.

I'M FROM DETROIT AND EVERYONE WAS SURPRISED WHEN THE LITTLE DROPS FELL AND AT THAT HOUR IT Was cool Saturday unlike Sunday.I come 4 these Air shows .FORTUNATELY my sister lives a few minutes from Mather Airport.I got hooked 3yr ago because when they practice 4 days they fly right over her house.

This is just my opinion but after seeing both groups live and in person, I have come to realize the "Blue Angels" are like Kelloggs frosted flakes while the "Thunderbirds" are the large bag of Molt-o-Meal frosted flakes. They are good but nowhere close to being as good as the OG.

DEFINITELY strange to see the D model as a solo with a center bag. Interesting! I wonder if that was a VIP or media demo flight or had the regular bird maintenanced out.

@@_wingflexaviation_ yes I saw that later in the video. I was a former maintainer in the USAF. The TBirds like most units are no different is that they have a spare bird ready in case one a/c codes out for maintenance. They do sometimes use a D model rarely in a demo for a public relations flight for a passenger like a USAF photographer. But this was rare as I have seen them use spare single seat birds but not a D model with a bag on it. Thanks

In 2017 I hated the Thunderbirds because they cutout early the weather was beautiful that day however after the Thunderbirds switched up their demo they are truly amazing to watch when they're in my hometown you can literally feel the power of their F-16s this year is the Blue Angels I cannot wait to see them the Thunderbirds will return to my hometown in 2025 I will be there!

They'll add that on to their D models since the addition of an extra seat robs them of internal fuel capacity. The center tank allows the them carry the same amount of fuel as the single seats in the formation.
