This was a lunch cruise, 100 miles each way, so some of us do drive our Corvettes quite a bit. I don't see too many of the C2 generation anymore, though.

Cacti seems to be a very polarizing color, and people have strong opinions about black wheels too... both for and against. It's great that we have so many choices!

That's actually a very good point! With an ERay, like this one, they definitely could, but they're probably just so used to starting the engine that they haven't really considered this great new capability they could use.

100%... NOT TRUE! In fact, a Corvette Stingray is one of the best sportscar values out there when you look at speed and handling for the cost. A C8 Corvette is quicker and faster on track than many exotics (Lambo, McLaren, Ferrari) for one-third the price!

@@ARZiehm Yes, most of those Corvettes were custom ordered by buyers from all across the country. The cars outside were getting ready to go through PDI (pre-delivery inspection) to get them cleaned up and fully assembled before customers could pick them up. To be fair, this dealership sold about 5% of all the C8s during the 2024 model year, but that's well over 2000 Corvettes! They're on track to sell even more for 2025. The #2 dealership sold "only" about 1200, and #3 sold just over 600. @ARZiehm, congrats on your new C8!

In person, the widebody is super obvious. In the video, the shot right down between a Z06 and a Stingray shows how much further the Z06 body extends out at the wheel wells. Agreed on the grays... two very different and distinctive colors. I like the metallic in Hypersonic, so that's still my favorite, and I also like how in certain light it takes on a green hue.

Accelerate Yellow was my favorite color to date. I'm very disappointed that it was discontinued.

@@buckysti I used to have a Rapid Blue Stingray, and I got lots of compliments on the color. I waited 9 months for that car. Deposit to delivery for my ERay was about 14 months, but that's because I got one of the very first ones.

The Corvette engineers outdid themselves!

The ERay and Z06 are two distinctly different C8s, intended for different customers. ERay is a better daily street car that is faster on the street and can be driven all 4 seasons, whereas the Z06 is much more track focused. Both are amazing, but never intended to be compared directly against each other.

Both are great cars but are very different in how they deliver their power. It all depends upon what driving characteristics you're after.

@@J4ylin I loved my Stingray, but the ERay is better in almost every way. Adding to what's written above, it also has the wide body of the Z06 and Carbon Ceramic brakes with 15.7" rotors in the front, which are very impressive! It's also got the best-looking wheels of any C8 Corvette, IMO.

@@MazVette15 No, you can't shut the electric motor off, but you can drive using the eAWD only for a very short distance without starting the V8 engine. It allows you to leave the house silently and not disturb people with the loud bark of a cold start.

I may have exited and followed, as well, just to see if I could talk with the owner, but I was on my way over to my mother's house to clean out her shed and remove construction materials from her yard. My brother and I loaded two full-size pickup trucks.

Thank you. I was talking with a graphics designer at the event, and he was telling me how the red interior and gray exterior together trick the eyes and human brain into seeing a green hue in the paint. It's well-known that in certain light, Hypersonic Gray Metallic looks greenish, but I didn't know about the Adrenaline Red interior playing a part, as well, and he had a scientific name for it that I don't remember.

I appreciate that reaction. It was a beautiful drive and adventure getting over to Steven Tyler's place (Aerosmith!)... the sights... the sounds-and the acceleration in a few spots-enjoying my Corvette!

Of course, and I'd love to tell you! They're both GREAT cars. It depends on what you want. I wanted the immediate torque boost and the AWD traction the ERay provides and didn't want to drive around with an engine screaming at 4500+ RPM all the time like the Z06 demands. The ERay is a great Grand Tourer, so that works for my use case, and I wouldn't want to daily drive a Z06. It's two entirely different driving experiences, with the Z06 being a very track-focused car, but on an autocross or smaller track, the ERay probably still wins. If you're a real track rat, and especially on a track with long straightaways, a Z06 is hands down the way to go. As you may have seen from my video, I like to cruise around casually, but also have some fun along the way, and that's why I chose the ERay.

It's my 2024 ERay in Hypersonic Gray Metallic, which was a one-year color for the ERay.

Yes, please do! In my experience, it'd be uncommon for MacMulkin to do PDI (the work to get the car ready for delivery) and then send it to another dealership. Usually, it would get shipped directly to the customer. Or your local dealership could possibly do a "Courtesy Delivery" if you bought it through MacMulkin, but in that case normally the car would go to them directly from the factory, and they would do the PDI. Either way, I'm sure you'll love your new Stingray!
