That "Church Record Number" at FamilySearch was probably just asking your number if you were a member of the Latter Day Saints - as it's their web site.

I have a burning question. Is Tatica Filomena’s mother?

I was able to trace my Dominican side back to the 1300s, the oldest ancestor on my tree was an indigenous Guanche of Gran Canaria, Canary Islands born in 1335, I found that my family did a lot of moving around from Spain, Portugal, Nueva España, Venezuela, Argentina, and Hispaniola.

When did you family arrive in Dominican Republic? The most of records are available until 1800.

@@alexandracruz5243they all showed up at different times throughout the colonial period, like I said they did a lot of moving around, on of my ancestors however helped found San Jose De Las Matas after the Devastations of Osorio and while I haven’t been able to trace that particular line prior to San Jose De Las Matas knowing the history of the founding of that town it can be inferred that they were probably part of the first Canary Islander families to settle in Hispaniola, seems like they were part of the group of families that originally settled in either Montecristi or Puerto Plata

@@kRod200 Very interesting. I also have ancestors from the Cibao region. I did an AncestryDNA test and have many distant cousins from San José de las Matas. I think I probably have ancestors from there too but my tree doesn't go far back enough to make the connection at the moment. Maybe someday.

@@alexandracruz5243it might take a while, it took me almost 3 years to get all the information that I have on my family tree for both my parent’s sides, but I hope your able to find more information soon.

I'm the first to comment this recording. I have been emotionally moving listening your stories. I found everything in here, misogyny, cultural machismo of women, abuse ecc. I can recognize now because I grew but first was ok. Thanks for your hard work Angie and Yamberly and all the contributions. De eso no se hablaba, until one community like your put those things out...A big huge from far to yours!!! Thank you!!!

Que historia desgarrante esta de Carisa. Gracias por compartirlo. No sé en qué circunstancias faltó ese señor. Quizás en esos viajes sólo de ida pero que la vuelta es dolorosa para los que quedan. Un abrazo!
