Their finishes make Gibson look like Epiphone. Never played one unfortunately, it's not a guitar shops carry but theyve got countless price inflated Gibsons that just dont measure up to what you should get for that much money. Other then the 61' standard SG for 1,999 they all punch below their price tags. I do however still love Gibsons acoustics but as far as ES style guitars there are way too many great alternatives.

Gorgeous. Love those guitars. More rockabilly guys should use those. So flashy and cool looking.

Nice run thru, good show and tell of the instruments various tones - thanks for that. I have my eye on the SB59/v but I'd be very happy this one alongside it . . . nice one!

Beautiful looking guitar. I’m lucky to have bought 2 Gibson ES 335’s. A got neck full gloss and a satin block neck, both in cherry. Both are amazing and I need the slim taper neck profile. If this had a slim neck I’d be buying one of these too.

Who could ask for more? Laminated guitars are far more robust too. That's not that old for a guitar.

Merci

These are really nice guitars, with great, modern necks that are very comfortable! To answer your question about the click on the bottom tone pot; that is a "No Load" tone control. When it's on 10, the tone control is removed from the circuit, giving you the full, natural tone of the pickup, without being colored by the tone control. I hope this helps!

I love Fender Japan but If Fender Japan stop using black plastic at the trussrod access it would have much smoother appearance. Sometimes features are so nice but the black plastic at trussrod does not compliment the headstock.

Love the sound of a Rickenbacker bass. No other bass sounds quite like it.

I bought the J45-12 a few months ago. It is a great sounding guitar. Being a Martin Man, the HD -28 12 just could not measure up, and I tried four before going home with the Gibson. That was a first for me in over 50 years. Very balanced. Con, the base could be just a tad louder. That is where the martins had that checked, but the overall smooth sound of the Gibson won out.

There is almost no difference, but sound is subjective so. I will say that unless you just love gloss, it's not worth the extra money. Acoustic pickups are cheap if you really need one. Plus , is the difference in sound from cureing or just 2 different pieces of wood.
@55TeleMark18 күн бұрын
I own this model and find it well suited for singing. When you compare the quality and price, especially to a 2 or 3,000 dollar guitar the Eastman more than holds its own. Many bluegrass musicians are switching to instruments other than Martin 18. 28,and 35’s for a more modern sound and playability. Even Martin is moving into this aspect. The best guitar is the one you love not, the one others are impressed with.

I'm glad I got this guitar when it first came out in 95 Especially as I order it to be a lefty.. everytime I go too the shop where I got it from the gut keeps asking me if I wanna sell it 😅, I told him it tripled in price as to when I got it

Is has the Volute - started in late 1969. It has the Made in USA stamp - started in mid 1970. It has the block logo... It has the dotted i... it has the very small contoured cutaways... everything screams, that this is more like a 1970 or very early 1971 SG Special, not a '69 🙂

I owned a Gibson J-45 Deluxe. I regret selling it. It recorded like no other acoustic I’ve owned and I’ve owned several acoustic’s in that $3,000 to $4,000 price range. From this video, the Eastman doesn’t have nearly the bass response of Indian Rosewood. It also distorts when strumming hard. That said, it sounds like a $600-$700 guitar. So there’s probably decent value depending on the price paid.

The bridge isn't original, it would not have had a compensated bridge, just a cylindrical tube with grooves cut in it. It's also in the wrong place- way too close to the bridge pickup.

They definitely sound different. But is it 4k different? NO. To the average person they would never tell the difference. In a studio setting, EQ would fix any and all differences. Epiphone has outdone themselves, offering this guitar in a more wallet friendly version to the Gibson version. It’s players preference. Happy playing everyone 🤘🏻

I like both. But some people will buy the Gibson just because it is one. But that's their money, not mine.
