I recommend adding some "barends" on your bike to put your weight forward on climbs. Plus they offer an alternative hand position that mimics the tops of road bars. Never mind the dismissive looks they'll get you.
@TravelsWithTony3 күн бұрын
Yes! That is something I have been considering for this upcoming season. Have you done it? What bike are you on ?
@noelbrown67713 күн бұрын
@TravelsWithTony Tony, I'm an old MTBer from the 90s, when bar-ends came standard on MTBs and on some Hybrid bikes. I've retrofitted them on many of my bike builds over the years: flat bar commuters, gravel bike conversions vintage MTB resto-mods. I even have them on my Marin Rift Zone FS trail bike.
@TravelsWithTony3 күн бұрын
@ Nice ! I had a 1995 Rockhopper for awhile with the bar ends and loved the feel of it. I want them now for the multiple hand positions when I'm out doing 100lkm rides

Any GPS is going to take a minute or 2 to lock on to satellite's when you first turn it on. Your watch is always on so of course it's locked on to satellites right away . The go pro is fine and is working as any GPS would . Any other GPS camera will work the same way .

I film while bikeriding and to my disappointment both cameras dont allow me to add stickers (other than the GoPro logo). Like you, I use quick start exclusively and obviously i havent been getting a proper GPS fix. Im gojng to try your suggested method today! Thx again. Gerard

Thank you ! It was disappointing to have the sticker function be so poor. I have used the telemetry overlay software several times now.And one of my videos covers that. It was 99% accurate. Keep me posted on your efforts as well !

@ Hi Tony and thx again so much for your advice. I am just back from filming handheld with Hero13. I turned the camera on, waited until I had a GPS fix and then hit the shutter button…it WORKED! You think of all the dangers racers face while actually racing, and then for something like this to happen! Hoping Remco makes a speedy recovery, in time to be back in the pro peloton in the spring. Very cool. I know that area pretty well. Been to Rattlesnake Lake a few times. Once I did a 100km out and back from the parking lot at the lake up the John Wayne Trail, through the old tunnel and along the reservior after Snoqualmie Pass. Great gravel trail. You could actually go all the way to ellensburg. But I couldn't organize a ride back. Here I have the luxury of never being a few miles from a train or bus. Next ride might be Vienna-Bratislava and then the train back.
