Nice looking flea that. I’ll try it with a silver tag to imitate an air bubble as the shuck forms and a smooth (dubbing free) body the rest the same. Red on a buzzer just looks good..

I thought up a fly like this and never tied it. Then a while back I saw this and had to tie one and it looks amazing. I think it looks best as a jig with a black nickel bead, but ive tied it with a metallic pink bead with an orange hot spot and on an egg/caddis hook. Dying to use it for steelhead but everything froze. Hopefully opens up in a week or so with mild temps

Great pattern. I substituted a micro crystal flsh for the mallard and used UV resin, built-up a bit of a body. Cant wait to fish it. It looks very edible! Thank you

I recall fishing with Jeremy many moons ago where he showed me this fly. I tie it usually at 20 or 22 hook and just use one or 2 CDC feathers. The body I use nothing but the thread, some olive, red, orange take your choice! Its a killer fly and as you say the 'get out of jail fly!'

Nice selection of some less known flies - looking a tquite a few of them they are very buggy - Looks like you may be using dubbing loops to tease out the bugginess - would this be the case?

Enjoyed that, always good to have look into someone else’s box and hear a little bit about each fly. Thought there might have been a drab fly in there. Wasp is a winner for me.

Great video and very sporting of you to share your favourites. I've just discovered glo brite no 8 this winter for use on the Nith. Amazing how effective a colour can be. All the best for 2025🤙🙂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

An old friend taught me that if the fly isn’t bouncing between the rocks on the bottom then your fishing too shallow 👍🏼🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.

I use a short intermediate leader to save the loops on expensive fly lines. I find flourocarbon leader loop to loop cuts in to softer fly line loops.

I do have apps worms in my fly collection but nothing like this or that colour looks dead good. Please can you tell me where you get your jig beads from and your flexi floss 2 if you don't mind. I will need those materials before i can give it a go . Have a good Christmas 🎄 Steve and Family.

That looks like it would be good in silver and black too, with black and white grizzle. I am going to have a go at your yellow version and see if I can get my first brown trout in Scotland with it.

Can't believe I've missed this one for two years. That is a Brilliant idea! Way better than foam indicators and NZ wool because it is more delicate and it has a hook! Already tied some up. Can't wait to use them. Thanks!

Great video Steve, only thing, didn’t fancy your effort to pull the fly from the trees.I’ve done this and have ended up with two broken rods, better pulling it straight inline with the fly,may break the leader but that’s easy replaced

Good morning. I'm French and I don't understand English. the video translator is not good. Can you give me the dimensions of your leader with the space between the flies. which boobies will you use in murky waters. Sincerely
