Hello! A bit of a new fan here - the scope of the works here, arranged and viewed in a row like this, is really jaw-dropping! I have to say I'm especially taken by the deep violet structure towards the right, something about the serenity and softness of the patterns within the paintings matched with the tactile erraticity of the angular placement of their canvases feels exceptionally striking... This is a bit of a silly request, but I and a few friends of mine are hobbyist game developers, and we wanted to reach out and ask if you'd have any interest in providing some in-character voice over for a video presentation! The unit looks great and has a lot of useful functions. In another review, I saw that the pads unfortunately read the velocity of the stroke incorrectly. Have you noticed this problem? I hope it had an update that fixed it.

I used the Push 3 sequencer to sequence this, but either way is possible. Yes, could add FX because the ST is going to the P3 input

Yes, you may want to turn up the pad sensitivity for that. You notice I'm using xylophone mallets here, they don't even hit as strongly as drumsticks

i have made a lot of music on the korg emx-1, i still have one. I also have the electribe2 and the only thing i miss are the tubes. The electribe 2 is not in my opinion a successor to the emx-1, this are just seperate units with separate identities. what i do like is also that drums can be manipulated far more than on the emx-1. Maybe i will use the emx-1 again in the future, maybe as an fx processor, or to use as an extra sequencer. I maxed it out a bit, because ive made so much music on the emx-1. It would be nice if korg came with an electribe 3, maybe combining the synth unit and the sample unit. There's a lot of negativity online about the E2, but i do not fully understand why. It has an identity of its own, just as the emx-1 has.

Great comment! I agree with most of this. My ideal Electribe 3 would be a "total unit" like a MPC (or a Deluge! which I bought for similar purposes) with BOTH sampling and virtual synths. I don't like artificial separation of functions into multiple hardware identical digital machines! That's a kind of lie. = "Candy Store Synths" will be a future video on this channel. (Have you tried the alternate E2 firmware, btw?)

BTW - You can adjust the drums EVEN MORE on ESX! You can Reverse the samples, specify the start time as well as the end, and They Each have a Filter

@@VJFranzK no i have the synth version, and i dont know if it adds something for me. If its about sampling, ive also got an mc-707m that can do loopingm chopping, layering of samples.

@@VJFranzK on the electribe 2 on drums i mostly use the filter as an eq to shave off some lows or that kind of thing, you also have the osc edit knob, you can do things with modulation, and the sound has an envelope, and there is an effect. The emx-1 didnt have that for drums

You have different volt on the units. 12v and 9v. Maybe its a mythos but some people say that the 12v unit sounds better.

Very interesting. Probably requires a test with the very same pattern, and look at the waveforms! There probably IS some slight difference in sound, the question is: does it matter enough to the ear?
