I'm not too sure if it's simply your accent, or if you literately mean "16 Gigabits of RAM"? You've said that at least twice. If that's correct, then please excuse me: I have never heard anyone describe RAM in "Gigabits" before now; always in "Gigabytes", or "Megabytes", least ways.

Neither Harvard nor Stanford have the resources to stand up to political conservatives and/or meritless lawsuits, so they just completely buckled and closed shop?! Much more likely is the charges of university malfeasance were substantiated and that’s why Stanford and Harvard dismantled their programs.

Why should apple be forced to let others use their platform to compete with them. Build your own app store and phone. Stop crying because you have inferior stuff
@hman04Күн бұрын
Wow you are clueless. Apple has always used older hardware and inferior software and encoding. But people who don't know anything believe high prices and cool commercials equate to better services and hardware.

@@hman04 If apple were not a superior company then how come all these other companies have to cry to the government and essentially force apple to pay other to compete against them. I dont use apple because almost nothing they sell is better than the competition, but it is still no excuse to penalize apple because people WANT to use apples inferior platform. all it does is perpetuate an inferior product.

So Apple's efforts from the START were to contain the development of apps that would work on their phone to avoid theft or predatory apps so as to keep people happy with the offerings and not worry about bad actors. So now the EU wants to open that oversight of the apps to allow poor code on their phones. What a phenomenally bad idea.
@TheMrBrianhКүн бұрын
Not shocking that Apple would refuse to comply with a law designed to increase competition. In the past, Apple has stolen apps from independent developers, rolling them into their software, and then banned the original because it duplicates an official function. They did all that without compensating the original app designer for their intellectual property.

Spacex doesn't need $11b to get this done well before 2040. They are Already developing a lunar lander that can put tens of tons on Mars and return. (Its Original purpose.) They could do Mars in about $5billion and 5-7years (lunar landing and return will be achieved no later than 2027... and that is 75% of the work already bought and paid for). Spacex is going to Mars Anyway, so they would partially fund the effort out of pocket (and the pockets are becoming very deep with snowballing Starlink revenue (esp with new E-band and Starship ability to put up massive numbers of satellites). Anyone else has to start from scratch. Spacex just has to carry on doing what they have been doing... with a little nudge to get to Mars faster. This would also pioneer: - In-situ fuel production in a methane atmosphere. - Human form robots for space exploration (Tesla will have terrestrial version in all their factories by 2026 - pilot already begun.) - Electric rovers larger than Cybertruck with 300km range (so tthat you can land the 10 ton truck in a place with ice for fuel production and retrieve the samples (with human form robots driving if you want a non specialized vehicle)... a hundred kilometers away if need be. Again, not much work to adapt existing Cybertruck components. - Use small nuclear plants NASA is developing today to provide power (2 or 3 if you want redundancy). The plant is targeted at 2030 and 6 tons/40kw... the only bit with any time frame issue. Not a problem for a rocket with a capacity of 100t to mars surface. ... and that would make even $11 billion well worth it. But Spacex won't charge that much. Sample return would be a Great test of many of the the technologies Spacex needs to build their cities. This would be worth doing for them if there were No samples and No money from the feds. So... even if it failed in 2029, Spacex would return over and over if necessary (he will soon have the money at Spacex to make this a minor side show in his budget) There really was never a question of who should do this. The only company that can... because they were always going to do this anyway.

I'm really disappointed to see this. I mean, it's gotten to the point where when one side does something it's wrong and when another side does something, that you agree with, it's okay. Politics absolutely sucks and I'm tired of having it crammed down my throat every single day. There are more important things that we need to worry about.

No democracy should police information. If people aren’t smart enough to parse and verify what they see on the internet then they probably are not intelligent enough to make a decision like who should be President.

Shades of the 70's/80's concept of an industry standard (then the S100 aka IEEE 696-1983) system bus you could slot in different boards. That period of an open S100 expansion bus sparked a whole industry of startups, until Big Industry (IBM) came along with the PC and their proprietary bus architecture and some OS from a startup (MSFT).

And about everyone should stand down, If you read the terms of service you can clearly see that adobe did try to grab ownership of the content. It was not poorly worded at all: "4.2 Licenses to Your Content. Solely for the purposes of operating or improving the Services and Software, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free sublicensable, license, to use, reproduce, publicly display, distribute, modify, create derivative works based on, publicly perform, and translate the Content. For example, we may sublicense our right to the Content to our service providers or to other users to allow the Services and Software to operate as intended, such as enabling you to share photos with others. " They wanted to be able to use it for their purposes, and even resell it to other users. I don't think you can dismiss this text as poorly worded. I think it was purely worded to enable Adobe to do whatever it wanted with the content and the public outcry about it made them issue some lame clarifications.
