I remember my father asking if I wanted to do the run and explained we'd have to catwalk to it. the look on my face was like asking me if I wanted to eat poop. I was philosophically opposed to ever having to HIKE to get to a trail. That's what we (actually my father! 😆) bought a lift ticket for! ah. the petulance of youth. looks pretty tight but not very long. 😌

hard to see anything. I wanted to compare it to goat or starr at Stowe, which are traditionally the really steep runs in VT. it didn't seem nearly as steep or tight as starr, but tbh, i had a really hard time seeing things even in 1080p. the overcast was brutal for me on the video. was it that difficult to see in real life? as far as the conditions, I skied the east exclusively and the sound of that slop was familiar. I don't think i'd have bothered skiing that day if conditions were like that. was it spring? one thing i could definitely notice was they don't do much in the way of brush clearing on that line. there are some steep glades in VT, but they're actually glades. if a run isn't a glade, I don't recall having to navigate all that solid brush. when it comes to quebec skiing, i preferred mount st anne to the stuff north of montreal. there were some long mogul runs (like under the gondola) that I could spend the whole day on.

I went on Starr and Goat last week. I think that this is a bit steeper than both, but it's super wide so it doesn't feel as steep.

We used to swim against our swimmers when we coached. I still remember my last time swimming against Andy Grant when he was in jr. high school and I could still beat him. Then, he went on to swim at Stanford, several national championships, olympic trials, PanAm game medals and swimming against/with Michael Phelps. Oh, and to top it all off he married 5-time Olympic Gold medalist Dana Vollmer. They have kids now, and I think they might have a chance at being good athletes.

After graduating college and swimming at the US Opens I went back to my home town for a final swim meet with my childhood coach just so I could set a pool record and encourage kids on the team. It was really nostalgic for me and a lot of fun. Im guessing this a lot more common than people think.

@bensonr27 ай бұрын
Yeah, no. Even with GoPro effect you can see about the halfway mark it gets ridiculously steep. Now its much shorter then tough runs out west. However its all about conditions. North east conditions are brutal. Good conditions on a trail like this are considered shit conditions out west. And the typical condition of a trail like this is skidded off rock hard boiler plate. It's easy to handle a steep pitch when you can put on the brakes at any moment.
@williamdavidson34537 ай бұрын
@@Isaiah_berbs Actually he is entirely right, skiing out west coming from the east is a breeze. You basically never have to deal with the ice conditions we do. Also run signage is standardized by pitch. The thing the west has that the east simply doesn’t would be the above tree line rock terrain that is a totally different experience, cornices, couliers, etc.
