Can you make some melee focused armies instead of pikes, the mix makes battles more interesting and pikes was just done in the last campaign. I think you are good enough to start multiple wars just to make the game play more interesting.

Yes I will eventually replace the pike armies with melee only armies once I hit the reforms. And will eventually start multiple wars once my economy is more robust to support a decent amount of troops.

I think what the barbarian factions lack is a way of portraying ongoing civilising and urbanization. Its logical to think that an expansionist ancient germanic reich would come across some more sophisticated cultures. In game that could include new city models in a more romanesque fashion, with possibly an extended and more thematic technology tree, as in the Germani are copying their subjects in city planning. Armor and army organization copying could be a thing too.

I talked about it on discord server but with no response, I checked it and it makes Roma much much weaker. Well, it is some alternative to vanilla DEI experience, I think it makes Roma too weak 😂 I don't know, I speak from my pov. I would really like AI to be more intelligent in Rome 2 🤔 that DEI devs would not need to buff to high hell the Romans

@@banekbanasiewicz6288 The point is that in DEI you have to fight Rome every time, even if you play, for example, Bactria. It's just that the western part of the world map is always occupied by Rome, it's boring.

Another reason to avoid infantry generals is that they get shot to shit whenever you place them anywhere near the front, they just rack up casualties no matter how armoured they are.

i recently read julius caesars ‘the gallic war’ and if im not mistaken im pretty sure he spoke of the suebi calvary frequency dismounting and fighting on foot, it would be super cool if you incorporated this in your battles!

@andrewwilson2617 a combination of 1. Dignitary skills/household traits. 2. Governor/admiral general skills/household traits. 3. Sanitation buildings. 4. And as a last resort, a bunch of temples. 5. Owning the slave resource directly like in Odessos and that region in Arabia Felix also offers factionwide slave unrest.

Love the Getae as a faction to be honest. The only faction that can best rome with melee infantry vs. melee infantry. The new 5 divisions for the army formation is actually really good and it can be applied to almost all armies with of course some changes to the units selected in each division.

The Getae/Dacians are incredibly versatile for a barbarian faction. One of the best archer units in the game, good swordsmen and shock infantry, decent hoplites, and even some tolerable hybrid shock/horse archer cavalry. They are also blessed with a proximity to some excellent AoR and mercenary units. Ah yes: thank you very much for your hard work in furnishing this amazing mod.

Good stuff. You sound Indian - if so, Latin and Greek are far easier to pronounce correctly than modern European languages. You can use the dental 't' and 'd', for example (like in Hindi 'tum' or Tamil 'thambi' - non-Germanic languages do not use the alveolar t and d (like in English or German)

@riverblack565 Yes, thank you for the correction. I don't know where the Bo eoy sound originated from. It's probably from the game itself, and it stuck to most of us YouYubers. Unfortunately, I fall into this trap as it has now become a hard habit to shake off. It is Bo-e-e as you rightly mentioned.
