Cleese was before his time, showing how meaningless these awards are, and now Gervais brought some sanity back to the present.

While Kline did win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, Cleese was nominated for an Oscar for writing the script

You can tell 'muricans were never educated about WW2 when there's zero response when Cleese said 'herman goring'

This is my favourite episode. There's something cozy about early Simpsons episodes set during winter time, most of all this one. Mr. Plow also. Homer's just sat enjoying his Sunday off here with the heating on. It's almost like we're enjoying it with him 😁 love the little noises the 3 stooges make as well.

Kevin Kline rehearsed his scenes in a normal fashion like all the other actors. He didn't start doing all that outrageous shit until the cameras were rolling. No one knew he was going to do what he did with Otto. Everyone was taken by surprise. Cleese was genuine in his remark about Klines work in the film.
