I bought one of these recently and I’m very impressed with the quality of these lamps. They still do leak a little bit in certain places but there’s really nothing you can do to stop that because kerosene is so thin. These lamps are basically a perfect reproduction of the original ones made from the 1930’s but the only thing that’s really changed is the finish and coatings. I’m almost convinced that you could even add one of those rare bicycle reflective mounting brackets on the back of one of these new lamps and it should still fit. These lamps are very reliable and can save you in a pinch when you’re in the middle of nowhere but of course, the chances of that happening is close to none in our lifetime. These lamps are a sheer reminder of the one or two recourses that may have been more of a pain to acquire for some people than not and it stands as a tool that will be here when it’s needed regardless if that need will ever come again and it will be here when we are gone.
