My major issue with the Vertx Delta Stretch pants is that they use stretch material where the button fastens. For me, a concealed carrier, the material stretches and allows the pants to constantly become unfastened. It's a real problem for me since I appendix carry and wear a Wilderness Tactical Instructor's Belt. I also find the back pocket that I put my wallet in wears out pretty quickly. I can remedy that, but not the issue with the stretchy button holes.

Kinda weird having 2. I just did mine a few weeks ago. Same Truck in a 3500 dually. 4500 Miles , about 1-2 ounces at most. I think you had about 20 % more than I did. Once the rings seat in, this will probably decrease a lot.

Yea it was a mix of not fully understanding the applications that require 2 and not wanting to pay for shipping twice if I decided I wanted it later on. But my loss is your gain I suppose. Considering the first few years of this engine GM was saying something crazy like a full quart of loss at 1,000 miles was normal, I think they felt the heat and fixed the issue and I think this is an acceptable amount, it will make no difference from oil change from oil change.
@danr4197Ай бұрын

Too bad the transmissions are so questionable but at least they just fixed a defect in the 10-speed that has been going on for several years!

I was curious if you let the sample settle in the clear container and if there was a water mixed with oil component as the higher the humidity and a colder ambiant air temp the engine gets operated in and certainly shorter distance drives in those conditions, the more water vapour gets into the oil of an engine ( and that is where sludge formation issues become a major issue ). Any time I see someone on youtube from the northern winter climates try to use a catch can, its a mess within days all due to air temp and how the water vapour expelled from the engine through a catch can system cools off too much and the vapour returns to water and water and cold weather ... a block of ice in the catch can and bad news if the crank case system gets plugged as a result. Cold weather presents all sorts of issues !.
@commonsensepreparednesschannelАй бұрын
I can definitely check that next time. I live in the south so I don't have those winter issues. I have seen other people bypass them in winter because of the issues you stated.
@charlesb4267Ай бұрын
@@commonsensepreparednesschannel That is the bonus of living in the south, that and vehicles that don't rust into a total heap as long as you stay away from the ocean. I've seen various comments sections where viewers wonder why manufactures don't put catch cans on vehicles and that is one of the major reasons, freezing the contents of the catch container also even in a warmer climate someone has to service it and I'm sure you know a person or three who doesn't hardly know how to lift their hood and where to add windshield washer fluid, never mind check their own oil level. But yes, given the right vehicle owner and right climate, there certainly is a bonus to keeping all the oil one can from making it back into the intake tract and cake up the backside of the intake valves.

If you wired 1 Alternator just to charge your house batteries , you wouldn't need DCDC. ( Just a MPPT Solar controller that would equalize the (Lithium?) Batteries. That your Alternators can put out 230 Amps will never be used . ( max 60 amps) . They regulate the voltage , the current is determined by what you connect to them ( the resistance of the load) Your comment about the LENGTH of the wire is true . The longer run from your alternator to the unit will have a higher resistance ( loss) than a very short wire . So it is better to install a larger wire the Longer the distance for the same amperage. Agree the 100 amp fuse seems large . With Mppt , if your alternator output Voltage is less than the Voltage required to charge your house batteries , the unit will draw more amperage from the alternator. ( power out + losses = power in). Losses include Wire resistance and converter efficiency. 75 amp fuse should be max required ( 70amps in and 50 amps out is probably the Max amps you could ever see drawn from the Alternator.

Anyways, I've worn those pants everyday (casual, hiking, going to the range, camping, coaching sports etc.). I think, I might have washed the pants too many times. Knowing what I know now, I will never wash the pants in a laundry machine, I will just hand wash only. As for the pants itself, it's one of the most comfortable to wear, I love the pockets, especially the back ones because there's like 2 rear pockets per side and I can easily put my flash light and knife in it. It's almost, the rear smaller pocket was designed for that. I am a size 34 but my 2nd pants is a 36 and concealing with the size 36 is very comfortable, especially when sitting down, you almost don't notice it. When it does rain, the pants do get pretty wet and become uncomfortable. Compare this with my 511 pants that was not so bad when it gets wet on a raining day. My size 36 pants will be tested to see if the crotch area will last longer or not. Besides that, this is one of my most favorite pants. Don't be fooled by the pathetic pictures they have online, these pants looks very nice and cool (if you get your correct size).

From what I understand, the big difference between this one and the older model DC2DC Renogy charger is this one can smartly decide to prioritize alternator or solar depending on which one has the higher output. As I understand it, the old model would always prioritize solar so people were installing a switch to kill their solar while driving (if they have a small solar setup or the conditions are not ideal). Am I understanding that correctly?
@commonsensepreparednesschannel3 ай бұрын
There are several big differences but yes that is a big factor in why I chose this over the other models. It's a lot more hands off and takes care of your total system, even keeping your starter battery topped off. The ability to mount in the engine bay was also huge for me. The older models were solar charge controllers first that happened to work with a split battery system, this one I see as more of a battery management system that also smartly controls power inputs in a way that makes more sense based on how people actually use their systems.

1851 Navy Conversion "Beginning in 1868, thousands of black powder Colt revolvers and Remington percussion revolvers were converted to cartridge revolvers. Among them: the 1851 Navy, 1858 New Army, and 1860 Army. Remington was the first to introduce single action cartridge conversion revolvers in 1868. The original cap-and-ball cylinder of the 1858 New Army cartridge revolver was replaced by a cartridge cylinder with a loading gate and a new breech face. The frame was dovetailed to accept an ejector assembly. The Remington conversion chambered five, .46-caliber rimfire cartridges. In 1871, Colt received an Army contract to convert one thousand Model 1860 Army percussion revolvers to use the .44-caliber centerfire cartridge being manufactured at the Frankford Arsenal. In 1872, Colt began filling civilian orders for their metallic cartridge revolvers. These were an open-top conversion of the 1851 Navy. The next design was introduced in 1873, when Colt produced the Richards-Mason conversion of the 1860 Army. Using a system patented by Colt employees Charles Richards and William Mason, the old cap and ball cylinders were cut down at the back to permit the installation of a conversion ring to accept metallic cartridges." berettagalleryusa.com/products/uberti-1851-navy-conversion#:~:text=Beginning%20in%201868%2C%20thousands%20of,cartridge%20conversion%20revolvers%20in%201868.
