From what I know, his siblings weren't home-schooled (correct me if I'm wrong) which makes me think he was homeschooled for a reason - probably school anxieties which triggered a panic attack or him to run away from school. The fact he is wearing a uniform when in thw street makes me think that he tried to be in school when he was young. The reference to starting again next semester shows that there will be opportunities in the future and that things will be ok. With so many children and teens struggling to be in school (in the UK at least) since being at home in covid, this is a great song to give them hope. You are right - Tyler is a genius and so much appreciated by many. Love your analyses ❤

I think its important to remember Ned is representative of creativity and Tyler's struggles to create. He is trying to bring something creative to Josh but he keeps getting lost in his own thoughts and sabotaging himself so he has nothing good to bring. Josh is always ready to cook but until Tyler finishes the structure (the bun) Josh can't insert his drum tracks (the meat). He can't satisfy himself with the lemonade so he tossed the cup. He needs the sometimes toxic chlorine Ned demands. It's a struggle but he just keeps going back because he knows eventually he will find his was back to Josh with the bread but not if he keeps sliding into bad habits.

I feel like in this video Tyler is finally spelling out for us the meaning of the twenty one pilots logo (I think over all as the symbol, not necessarily the small variations from album to album). In words and in his body motions he is referencing, I believe, three symbols that are all connected. For one, we all know the connections of his Dema world to the Nicolas Bourbaki math group. I remember reading in comments somewhere how they had created this symbol to alert readers that the concept ahead may be misinterpreted or misunderstood and advise them to use caution. Then, and I feel I may have been watching an interview with Tyler, there was mention that England had co-opted this symbol when creating their "dangerous bend symbol" road sign to alert drivers that the road ahead will be unpredictable or treacherous and advise them to proceed with caution. He described the sign as a sort of diagonal z inside a triangle. In the Clancy video his body movements can be interpreted as creating these symbols -- he makes a triangle with his hands; he puts his hands on either sides of his cheeks then diagonally to one side of his face; he spreads his arms out diagonally then bends his elbows, etc. In words, he tells us how he blatantly disregarded these warning signs and now he needs to overcompensate to get back in control and return to relative safety. In the interview he even uses the analogy of overly turning the steering wheel to get back on course. All of this to say, this has hit me over the head as (and I could be wrong, or maybe 2000 other people have already said this -- I'm just sharing my thoughts in case it contributes something useful) possibly his original meaning behind the twenty one pilots symbol in the first place. (Aside: I am almost not comfortable saying this because I don't know what his thoughts were unless he were to state this blatantly, so proceed with my own interpretation with caution. Also, I in no way am meaning to discredit Josh -- you would have no idea how much I admire him, but I feel like in this case I am referencing Tyler's words in interviews, lyrics, and again, arm movements). When I think of the symbol in this way and look over/listen to the lyrics/watch videos, for so many songs and over so many albums, it makes so much sense that he would want to advise us to proceed with caution because the lyrics, subject matter, and even vibe of the music could be dangerous. Furthermore, despite being named after pilots, how many song lyrics and videos use cars, roads, and driving as symbols/metaphors/analogies? That's rhetorical because the answer, obviously, is "a lot". Car Radio, standing in the middle of the road in Next Semester and At the Risk of Feeling Dumb, Heavydirtysoul... those were just some that came immediately to mind. It is interesting that in Overcompensate, at least in the interview, he says that he needs to pull on the steering wheel in an exaggerated way in order to steer back on course, when, in Car Radio he says he "could pull the steering wheel", but I take that as intentionally driving head on into danger. Maybe that's progress? So, my proposal here, and again, I may be the 40,000th person to say this or maybe I'm completely wrong, is that Tyler (or Clancy but you know what I mean) is finally showing us, perhaps, that the band's logo may be inspired by and connected to the Bourbaki symbol and English road sign to use caution when approaching the danger ahead. This makes sense to me because (and this is from a 50 year old woman from Ohio who has been following them since I (belatedly) discovered Blurryface in 2017, was inspired by Josh Dunn to begin playing drums at age 43, saw them on their Trench tour in Detroit and Columbus (!!!), have tickets to Clancy in Detroit (next Sunday!) and Columbus (!!!), and was the only woman in her 40s to dress up as a Bandito for Halloween), while their music -- lyrics and sound -- and videos resonate so very strongly on such a deep and emotional level with me, they indeed warrant a Caution symbol. I wholeheartedly believe Tyler feels he bears such a deep responsibility to his fans and he knows his music resonates most with people who struggle with serious problems including anxiety, depression, lack of self-esteem and self-worth, and, as he said we need to acknowledge and say the word: suicide. And he knows that we feel these emotions very deeply. The Few, The Proud, The Emotional. His music, images, and lyrics have such power to heal, but, he advises, Proceed With Caution.

In the livestream when Tyler says b4 playing the Paladin placeholder song: ‘tell me does this sound like the end?’ he might just have been giving the viewers the hint to stick around beyond the 1 minute of birds. Not that he’s implying that the lore isn’t finalized after the FPE/Nico end statement 🧐 Lots of people saying that Clancy staring down Nico at the end shows that he has the inner power to stand up to his ultimate demon Nico. The End. Buuuut, I still was hoping for a more definite end to the saga/battle. Maybe we’ll get one final song Drag Path?? (unreleased song from the Digital Remains).

guys i have a theory...i think clancy isn't actually the one who climbed the tower and confronted nico, because in the paladin strait video, clancy and the banditos are walking, but in the background you can see people with his red and black mask and red tape, NOT banditos, so who are they? I think there are clancy copies, and when he's about to climb the tower it shows him looking up and then it skips to him again but this time he's on the complete opposite side... and one of the lyrics says "they tell me i'm a copy" i think there's something more we haven't even thought about and when he opens his eyes after nico has him by the throat, it seems like it's in reaction to being called clancy by nico. idk but it seems weird
@CountJeezy6 ай бұрын
Well that's a really interesting theory. Are you thinking that there are copies of Clancy that are independent or that are being controlled. Kind of one of the flaws I would see is the fact that he doesn't have yellow eyes or that he is using the antlers to amplify his power. I think possessing someone and then actively using psychic powers through them would be a bit much Even in a story where a bishop possessed a dragon. I think there is just simply the original bandidos who still wear their colors and then an open army of rebellion. I honestly think that Clancy killed the remaining bishops and the end is to show that Clancy is no longer susceptible to Nico. He drops the one antler but still retains the other so he has finally managed to keep control where when we saw him in Jumpsuit Nico was fully able to subdue Clancy.
@wavmario7 ай бұрын
I like to imagine that Clancy already has everything he needs to kill all the bishops, but he's afraid to do it because, he would have to sacrifice himself, like in "Migraine" "Sometimes to stay alive, you got to kill your mind" Since Trench and Dema are representations of Tyler's mind, and Nico is Tyler/Clancy himself

I was thinking it was possible that the yellow flowers at the entrance of the sewers was to hide it from the Bishops considering they cannot see yellow putting it at the entrance / exit of where he would sneak in and out of the city would be a really good idea it would hide it from their View

I think, when it comes to the bird sounds in the music not being present in the video, it’s important to remember that they’re presenting ideas in different forms of media to slightly different audiences. The sounds in the album add so much to the story telling and setting of the song. With the visuals of the video you just don’t need 60 seconds of bird audio. Like what would they have done with the music video for all that time? More slow motion shots of Clancy climbing the tower or running through Dema? Sure they could’ve done that, but I feel like the pacing of the video was perfect and including that audio wouldn’t have helped. It definitely improves the album track. It gives the listener an opportunity to dwell on the lyrics of the song before getting to the conclusion and climax. It’s presenting the same story and ideas in different forms and I doubt it has much lore significance unless you want to tie the bird sounds to ‘Isle of Flightless Birds” somehow.

Also also, I found a cool thing: The audio from the song "Chlorine" matches almost perfectly with the visuals for the Paladin Strait music video.

The lines are definitely blurry (no pun intended lol) but the way I think of it is that Nico is the leader of the bishops so he is the villain Clancy must defeat. The final boss |-/

We already got a lot of big hints about the death of the original Clancy from the letters, I think Tyler took on Clancy's name to rebel on his behalf in his memory, in one of Clancy's original letters he says he watched the jumpsuit plot from the sidelines, so he can't be Tyler It reminds me a bit of the phrase "Nobody knows his real name But now he just uses one he saw on a grave" Tyler's bishop is nico and clancy's bishop was Keons

definitely something weird going on with the scar! It originated with Heathens, then showed up in Trench, then back during Overcompensate & Navigating. Seems to only be there when Tyler is wearing the black cape, not when he’s Clancy or ‘singer Tyler’ (on the cliffs or the Pulpit)…so confusing 😵💫

Throwing this out there… No Chances has these lyrics: -“Get the door to blow you away” - the creaking door blowing open with scary floating Nico -“Notorious in the octagon, now” - Clancy is definitely notorious to the 8 remaining bishops (the octagon) after Keons died. Also “chorus, verse, chorus, verse, now here comes *the eight,* wait” in Levitate -“How’d you get the location? Put together pieces?” - Clancy knew exactly where to go, putting together all of the pieces from the letters, maps, and content from the lore. -“Spent some weekends on the grind” - Saturday lol. Also “Fridays will always be better than Sundays ‘cause Sundays are my suicide days” -“Surveillance is outside, we see when you arrive” - seizing the vultures to spy on the Banditøs army coming in -“Ride or die, my son” - could probably say somethin here haha I just think No Chances is an incredibly undervalued piece to all of the lore. Maybe it’s more like dialogue between Nico and Clancy than at least I ever knew. Freaking love this band.

My theory.. one more song. Maybe on the 25th? The story ends with one more song that shows us the end of the battle. The ending shows Tyler fading back into reality / our world and waking up from a dream.. Possibly just showing Tyler in his house in his bedroom where Jenna comes in and tells him breakfast is ready and the kids are waiting. Life is bliss. Maybe not that exact scenario but something similar to that could occur. Jumpsuit says “we’ll win but not everyone will get out” this group of banditos will win this battle but not everyone wins unfortunately. The story ends with Tyler winning his battle of mental health because he’s no longer in that dark place. His career, his fans, and his family is what matters most. This album is all about Clancy winning this battle with the dark parts of his thoughts, this world he created, and all of the themes these songs associate with. He doesn’t want to backslide. “You should let go, it’s all in my head” is him speaking to himself.
@FearlessConcern7 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing your theories |-/ backslide and snap back share similar ideas of how tyler is doing mentally and where he wants to be in regards to his mental health and I agree that those ideas will definitely play a large role in how the story ends
