Makes me want to run in & get my hymnal! For most of my nursing career, I worked weekends & wasn't able to attend church. Now at 73, and retired last year, I don't have a home church & don't want to be one of the old women who are the majority of church goers. I pull up the occasional hymn from my younger days, & enjoy them up close and personal.

A long time staple of my church and childhood experience. Our own "official" version didn't feature that stride you got goin' there in that left hand. Our local church pianist came out of methodism where worship was not supposed to come close to the fun you're having! Love your take on this old classic my friend. When I get to walk those golden streets for the first time, I will be doing a bit of steppin' and dancing, with your celebratory rendition now firmly in my memory banks. See ya there...

@@TheAmpico there wasn’t much delay if you used stops that were located in the chamber above the console.

@JIMD63703 ай бұрын
Organists have said you have to play for the right chamber as it's right above you and almost ignore the left two chambers as they're about a second or so behind due to the distance from the console. Oh, plus the sound coming off the back wall is about 2 seconds delay/echo too.

@@MattGerhard seconded. I love how you demonstrated a wide range of stops in such a short time. There's a particular stop I liked that sounds like a high whistle. You can hear it around 1:00 and again at 1:15. Based on its pitch relative to the 8' principal / diapason playing the melody - it sounds like it's exactly two octaves higher - I assume it is a 2' stop. Do you know which one I'm referring to? Is it the Harmonic Piccolo, or Orchestral Piccolo, or something else?
