Which variant do you mean? If you are referring to the WTT12L, you can find a more detailed description of how to set the switching distance here: cdn.sick.com/media/docs/2/02/002/operating_instructions_powerprox_wtt12l_photoelectric_sensors_de_en_es_fr_it_ja_ko_pl_pt_zh_im0060002.pdf

Isn't it an advantage with the flashing signal when the crate passes through? 0:36 Thus you could identify it as a crate by looking for that flashing pattern. In the same way the crankshaft and motor mount could be identifyed by its unique flash pattern. The postal package, and the bent planks however is a more difficult situation, and there I can see the advantage of the light band sensor. Especially the postal handling, where each package must be handled separately, for example to trigger a oncoming barcode scanner.
@SICKSensors10 күн бұрын
Hello @sebastiannielsen, Thank you very much for your suggestion. We agree that could be an advantage to identify different objects with flashing signals. The requirements from our customers shows that they are looking for a) “Simple detection” if the object is present or not independent of the shape of the object. Here we offer e.g. Reflex Array. b) “identification” means a higher requirement in comparison to “simple detection”, here is a big range of requirements. Solutions can be from a simple camera e.g. sensingCam SEC100 up to very sophisticated camera, e.g. Ranger3 However, identification based on flashing signals (individual beams) has not become established due to cost reasons (for development and final product).

I really don't understand, why slow down the palletizer robot when someone enters the inactive cell? The light field prevents anyone from reaching the robot, and also prevents the robot from working in the inactive field (along with the magnetic safety switch). So the whole volume inside the inactive cell should be considered 100% safe for humans right? Basically the same level of safety should be able to be reached by only the sliding door with magnetic switch, and the 2 light barriers separating the cell from the robot. So the magnetic safety switch simply decides which light field is active and which cell the robot will work in. The light field is turned off for the cell that has a closed magnetic switch. The remaining risk would be if someone remains in the cell and closes the sliding door behind, but that can be resolved by a forced button press to restart palletizer robot when door switching have taken place, preventing someone from closing the door while inside.
@SICKSensors6 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment. The slowing down of the robot when a person enters the area protected by the safety laser scanner is an integral part of our safety concept for this application and the safety system being used. When there are no people in the work area, the robot operates at full speed. However, as soon as someone enters the pallet area, it slows down so that it can be safely stopped by the light curtain in case of an unexpected entry. If you have any questions about technical details, don't hesitate to get in touch with our expert teams near you.

what kind of output signal? how to connect to plc please?
@SICKSensors3 ай бұрын
Hello and thank you for your comment. First of all, it is important for us to know which WTT12 type is being used so that we can provide a reliable answer. In general, all information about the devices can also be found in the manual. We differentiate between: WTT12L-Axxx: Analog - current/voltage WTT12Lx-Bxxx: Push/Pull PLC: WTT12L-Axxxx --> Analog input card WTT12L-Bxxx --> Digital input card WTT12LC-xxxx --> IO-Link master

Can this sensor be used to detect overheight vehicles? If so, what is the presenation for detected vehicles in application layer?
@SICKSensors3 ай бұрын
The TIC102 is a vehicle classification system. If the vehicle height needs to be measured additional to the vehicle classification, we would propose the TIC502. An over-height alarm can be generated there as well. In case only the over-height of vehicles is of interest, there is a dedicated system called OHD.

@SICKSensors4 ай бұрын
The shown solution is a an example we offer as a customer specific solution. In this example, the Conveyor in-feed and out-feed is protected by SICK safety light curtains and muting sensors. This could be e.G. deTec4 Prime safety light curtain + H18 photoelectric sensors. But this needs to be clarified case by case in regards of the specific requirements of the application. Additionally we have access protection at doors and gates. These projects also include SICK Consulting, Engineering and Project Management. Can we teach for atleast 2 colour at a time ? Our application is to sense the label colour on a PET bottle. Label contains 2-3 colors on its printed surface
@SICKSensors4 ай бұрын
Hi @sachinpbabu118 and thank you for your question! With the follower model of the CSM, the scenario you describe would be possible. It features a new "dynamic teach-in" option, where 2-3 colors can be taught in by moving them under the sensor. However, if you wish to use this option, it is important to ensure that no unwanted switching occurs due to any background color that falls within the taught color combination. If you have any specific questions or need further support, please feel free to reach out to our SICK Support Team at [email protected]. They will be more than happy to assist you. Have a great day!

A better option would be to use SICK CLV69x-1xxx to capture the bottle's barcode. Here is how: Make sure the bottles are forced against the conveyor wall, where you have a high grip rubber strip, so when the conveyor moves the bottle, its forced to rotate. This can either be done by a inclination (angle) so the bottles are forced against the wall by gravity, or have low-friction arms that push the bottles against the wall and thus cause them to rotate. Then you have a SICK CLV69x-1xxx mounted in the middle of this section, perpendicular to the bottle. It will then capture the barcode of the bottle, and you can easily assign in the computer, which barcode is assigned to which label colors, and thus logically detect the label color this way, for further sorting of the bottles. Since the bottle rotate, the barcode will always get into the field of view of CLV69x-1xxx atleast once.

How can we factory reset the permanently coded devices. To erase the actuator data
@SICKSensors6 ай бұрын
Hello and thank you for your question. It’s not possible to erase the actuator data. If high coding is required, but not only one-time teaching, we’d recommend to use the uniquely coded versions. Unlike the permanently coded devices, they allow re-teaching the actuator up to 8 times (e.g. if the actuator got lost or broken). The permanently coded devices allow only one-time teaching, if the actuator is lost, the sensor has to be replaced as well, no reset is possible.
