@paradisebreeze1705 exactly. I stole a snickers & opening the wrapper I wiped out on my bike. Threw the candy bar as far as I could & screamed at God, "IM SORRY, I WONT EVER DO IT AGAIN." That was 45yrs ago. Peace & strength to you.

Those with "INTEGRITY" would give the overage back. She'll have to balance her drawer @ the end of her shift. If the money doesn't equal what's on the "Z RECEIPT" She'll owe the difference.

In Tesco some years ago my shopping came to around say £16.40, I handed over £20 and got the £16.40 back in change. Yes felt guilty, I wouldn't hesitate now to point it out as I actually have done since, but then I just walked out very quickly.

@@jonathanplastow5220 I guess we all face different pressures in life but I feel it’s a good thing to look out for each other and you’ll make a friend by handing it back. All depends on how the cashier treated me, if they were cool, I'd let them know and give it back, if they are an a-hole then I'd just go on with my day and let them be short on their till later.

@@JohnEbrington-d7b I believe you. Unfortunate that so many would likely keep it. It would be interesting to know the breakdown of people who need the money, those who feel they deserve it somehow, those who think the cashier should face consequences as a way to justify taking the money, and then to find out if there is an amount over which people would point it out and return the funds. A tally of the rationales would be interesting.

@@JohnEbrington-d7b Ha ha- had a professor in a communications class prod me while writing on deadline. He told me time was running out, and I replied I was proofreading to check spelling. He came back with, "Don't worry about spelling, that's what editors are for." So when auto correct not only doesn't correct, but tries to completely rewrite something, I refer back to my prof and invoke his permission to include editors and spell-check and auto-correct. I usually go back and fix, but relax under his absolution, which I share with you. We do our best. Here endeth the sermon.

I believe the issue lies not solely with the probation service, but with various services in general. It appears they may not always be recruiting the most suitable individuals for the roles. The primary objective of the probation service is to assist in the rehabilitation of offenders who are on licence. However, it's unfortunate that within the service, there are occasionally those who seem to be overly focused on wielding authority, which presents a significant challenge. What we truly need are compassionate yet resilient professionals with a background in social work. These individuals should be capable of enforcing rules only when absolutely necessary, whilst prioritising support and assistance to the utmost degree. With such an approach, it's likely we'd observe a reduction in recalls to prison, which often occur for relatively minor infractions.

Just a little bit about me: I’ve always wanted to do social work; however, I’ve never been able to manage the maths because of my dyslexia. I’ve recently come across a potential opportunity within the probation service, and I’m at the final stage of the application process. My background is actually in computer science, and I’m currently working in the nuclear sector. However, I would certainly consider working with vulnerable people, although I haven’t done that in many years. I spent a good deal of time doing that in my early 20s, working within the community, hospitals, and with people with learning disabilities. In terms of education, I have a bachelor’s degree in computer science. So overall, I’ve done quite well. Now I’m thinking of moving into something I always wanted to do in the beginning but wasn’t able to pursue because of the requirements for social work education.

The Criminal justice system is a narcissistic demonic shit show which is why its corrupt to the core and these probation centres are noting but narcissistic play grounds run by narcissistic abusers for the most part there wolf dressed in sheeples clothing who have gone in to the job to accommodate for their narcissistic needs service users are noting more than food to them which is why service users are being baited and gaslighted up and down the country in these probation centres then escape goated the problem by there probation officer swindon probation officers kirsty phillips chris blackie are all prime example they all went in to the job with malevolent intent to do harm to offenders these kinda of parasites working in these centres are traumatizing service users there targeting a certain minority group of service users on there case load

Hi Danny, Most of the time people did cooperate with me at Probation but sadly I was assaulted once at the Probation Office in the late 1980's. I was punched 3 times to my head. I get the impression that work has changed considerably over the years. In my day there were more people being supervised on Probation and now there are more people being supervised on licence which is altogether different (plus I suspect more difficult) . There is now more emphasis upon Oasys and risk assessments too and caseloads are very high. I think I preferred my early days when there was more time to work with and motivate people. Take care and do look after your self and thank you so much for your kind words.
