We bought a replacement transmission in our eventually and it’s still much cheaper than the alternatives
@thetravelnbinge7 күн бұрын
@@estimatingonediscoveringthree crazy you say that….was going to post an update because ours literally went out a couple months ago, that God it was covered under warranty…so an 8 year old vehicle now has a brand new transmission 🙌🏼
@estimatingonediscoveringthree7 күн бұрын
@ Thank God in deed! awesome, happy for you! ours went after a epic trip from NY TO MIAMI AND BACK, pulling out 19’ bunkhouse. we still have the tahoe but have bought a ‘18 6.2l premeire Tahoe. power is awesome, tranny isnt working as hard, but the major down side is the air ride is bouncy! ugh! im gonna try putting a drop hitch on and adjusting the tortion, hopwfully that fixes it.
@Wicked_RotF3018 күн бұрын
Im too poor to have that setup. I bought an 05 Suburban Z71 4x4 for $2,300 and turned it into my camper/overlander/tow vehicle😂

The payload and axle weight ratings are probably more important than the overall trailer weight

Eating bar where couch is instead (can also be used for desk space when not eating), take out the dining and put free standing recliners, square off pantry/TV for more storage, extend counter to left of sink, remove oven/stove and put 2 burner to give more counter space and storage where oven is.

I'm happy to hear its working ok. For everyone else that may see this, the dry weight means very little. Actual weight once all your stuff is in it, any additions like solar panels and things like propane or water is what really matters. This trailer is probable over 6500 pounds or more with water. Also the rated hitch weights are never even close to correct. That is usually before even the empty propane tanks are put on. Actual hitch weight is more likely over 725 depending on how its loaded. Not to mention what's is being loaded inside the vehicle for passengers and other gear. On flat ground I bet its ok as long as its not windy and staying on flat ground. A trailer that big will definitely want to push around a tow vehicle with that short a wheelbase. Happy and safe camping out there.

I got a transmission cooler to my 2007 Chevy Tahoe and upgraded the rear differential to to a 4.56 take pressure off the transmission. It runs like a champ on a cold air intake and I’ve lost like .5 miles to the gallon I wa getting 15 miles to the gallon now I’m getting 14.5 per gallon
