The screen black out on everyshot is crazy slow considering this is a $6,000 dollars camera.

I really enjoyed your video here Andrew, you took some great images, several were personal favourites for me. I have seen many videos in the quarry but unlike others, yours shows how much variety there is at this location. I will be heading up there myself soon in my campervan! John

Great video. I recently got the D-Lux 8 and love it so far. Can you share your AF settings and your motion blur settings you used. I think I saw you had it on iAF but wasn't sure if you had it set to multi field? For the slight motion blur interested in seeing what shutter speed and iso settings you used. I appreciate it. 🙏🏽

Interesting you started with the common misperceptions but fairly quickly recognized the important elements of forms, texture, contrast and how it works in compositional harmony. BTW, macro certainly does work in IR as you’ve likely discovered. What you’re missing here is what can be done with a full spectrum camera, coupled with different filters other than 720, 850 and higher. Then the creativity and experimentation in post with combinations of white balance and color swapping. Edited images with Surreal colors often don’t look as ‘professional’ as a B&W or a 720nm with B&W and blue sky, but the joy and mystery is in experimenting with your images in post, trying many variations in hopes that one in a dozen or so yields some magic. It’s something unique to IR photo/video.

Hi Andrew, I’ve been told that it is potentially damaging for the memory card to just unplug it. It should be unmounted first, which I don’t think can be done on an iPad! So the iPad needs to be switch off, to be able to safely unplug the card. At least that is what I understand, unless anyone on KZbin knows differently?

Love this idea. I’ve been feeling a bit lost with my photography recently so i’m going to give it a go. I only have a ring flash (for my macro photography) do you think it would work? The cable has a bit of reach on it.

There’s beauty out there. Thanks for this. I am disabled so it’s difficult to get about. I still manage to get to some places and I will find my own wondrous little places.

I’ve done this one before with a tiny bit of success. I think my error was too much oil, which caused too much chaos in the shot. Also, I don’t think there was enough distance between my “jug of liquid” 😂 and the paper. I’m going to try again because I really like the abstract look of the images you get. Thanks for continuing to put up these “At Home” projects as it is super cold right now and too cold to really go out and take pictures. To your question: I agree that the little tiny bubbles adds much more to the image than their size suggests when visible. As always great video. Thanks, Andrew. Oh, love the new hair style. 😊

Wow, just had a go at this and I’m amazed at how much dust is in the air and a few stray hairs from the cat which I knew about, great video and thanks for the clear instructions on editing. I like your photo with the three small bubbles.

I really liked that last image! I'm keen to give this a try today. I don't have anything to hold my glass container or a flash, any ideas on what I can use if I don't have a clamp for the container? And will static light be ok?
@sh873610 күн бұрын
I was wondering if one could use one of those devices that are designed to go across the width of a bath and whether a container with water might balance on one. Might need to cut some of the across pieces away and secure with string. If the container falls it’s at least in the bath. Think I’d be hand holding the camera. Could also put small led lights on the across bath device to light the paper at the bottom. Of no use if you only have a shower……

It seems like the images out of this camera just have a different look and feel than Sony or other cameras. Do you find that as well? Even before editing it seems like the images just look better.

I do a lot of light painting of cars at night and edit in PSCC .. can you edit the same way you do in PSCC stacking the individual car images in Captureone and then adding a mask layer - invert that mask layer to be able to brush in the specific area of the image below. Thanks in advance

Thanks - a really good video - interesting, well presented and I learned a lot.. Enjoyed watching it. Hope you got some dosh from it - you deserve it. I have tried to use LED lighting but, except indoors where the ambient is "quiet", I can't really get enough light on the subject. Flash is what I am tending to use outside and I appreciated your emphasis on ligting as a core of macrp photography - moreso than in general photography. I am also relieved to see you using a simple 100 or 35 macro lens and just good composition to get lovely results rather than a plethora of rails for focus shfting /stacking which seem to be more in the extreme macro camp. Thanks again
