What boat ramp would i use to go up in the river section?
@fishtasy10 күн бұрын
@ShiningLightFishing I like Lake Norman State Park Ramp if I'm going up the river. If I think I may fish down the lake towards 150 bridge as well, I will use stumpy creek ramp.

Is there a best month for sheepshead. Is April/May ok?
@fishtasyАй бұрын
@@adamsons2890 it really depends on water temps. Most of the time, April is still too cold for really good Sheepshead fishing. The past couple years June has been the turn on month. We’ve lucked up in May with full limits if the summer water temps roll in early but if those water temps are still cold, you’ll be working for a handful of fish. I would say June is one of the best months for Sheepshead.

Ive been carp fishing in paylakes for 43 years now. Ive fished all over. That looks like a nice pond to go fish at. How many spots can he fish. I like spillmans and mostly fish at joes in east bend. Anyway i like this type of video you did a good job of editing to keep from showing the slower times you are always gonna have n some people dont understand. We are in the process at joes helping to remove some of the smaller fish cause his bigger fish that have been put in are not biting yet and alot of people are going elsewhere. Anyway it looks like you were doing basically the same thing. Cool that you got most lbs n biggest fish. Bragging rights! Lol have a good day might have to check roys out sometime. Os it open in colder weather?

@ronlemon6404 ай бұрын
You can get better holders than those. They make them more compact that only hold at the reel and work very well. I have some extras if you are interested. Not sure where you are located. I live in clemmons NC . Anyway if you want some pics let me know. Have a nice day

Never go back here again. If you want good fish an money go to big daddys, pops, silvermoon, lawsons, hill even hilltop better then this mud hole
@fishtasy7 ай бұрын
Mmmm, nah… don’t really care about the money. We break even or win a little almost every time we go to this lake and it’s relatively cheap AND CLOSE! It’s personal preference but I’d rather catch 20-30 dink to average size carp with the possibility of catching a good fish (two nights ago 7 fish were caught here all 20+ lbs and you didn’t win money if you didn’t have a fish on the board over 17.2) than sit all night and catch maybe one or two huge carp. To me, that’s booor-ing. I’ll be honest and completely transparent, we are still learning the tricks and secrets and most of the time we can’t keep up with the guys who’ve been doing it regularly for 10-15+ years because we’re relative newbs with our on/off experience of 3ish years… If we went somewhere like you mentioned we’d be toast and that’s NOT fun. The folks at Roy’s have always been super great to us and having fun while learning a thing or two is what it’s about… for us anyways. Not everyone has the big money mentality. I mean it’s A-okay if you do but it’s also perfectly acceptable to not. Sooo, yeah… I’ll stick with my “mud hole.” 😂

Really hate to be that guy in the comments, but that whole section of the Mitchell is a delayed harvest section.. may want to refresh on lure restrictions before the game warden comes along one day. Not worth the ticket. And wet your hands before handling trout, you know that! But nice browns anyway.
@fishtasy8 ай бұрын
Yes, it is delayed harvest and that means single hook, unscented artificial baits (which is what we were using), so I’m not sure what you’re referring to on “lure restrictions.” We get checked by game wardens on this stretch of river as well as the Stone Mountain State Park stream 9 times out of the 10 times we go and always get the all clear on our licenses and bait. As far as being wet, we were as wet as the fish were that evening 😂
