I have just been in iligan city and cagayan de oro for 14 days it was the vacation ive ever had it was safe and the peaple where great helpfull and very kind

It's not safe for locals never mind foreigners. The Army were called out on Xmas Eve to confront a mob of Muslims who were causing a riot. Gunfire was heard during the following two hours and about 1000 people were evacuated to the Cathedral, they are still there on Boxing Day morning. They are not allowed back to their homes because the Muslims have planted bombs and they need to be defused. My wife, kids, inlaws and extended family are all in the Cathedral. In short, do not go to Iligan it's dangerous and a total shit hole.

It didn't cut for the Top 10 Safest Cities in the World, but the best advice I can give you is do extensive research. Know where to go and know where not to go. If you can make contact with a local or if you already have a friend or a friend's friend from Iligan, they would surely be able to give you the information you need.

noon pa sana sumikat tong syudad na to kung naalagaan lang nang local government.. City of Waterfalls..! i frm cdeo and ive studied here from primary to secondary school.. a very cultural diversed city in the philippines..

Rosevin Jacob congrats on this video. It's beautifully made, comparable to travel shows. There are some screen flickers around 7 mins into the video but very minimal. I love the vibrant colors and the narration. This made me proud to be Iliganon. :D

Without any tension? PLEASE BE FACTUAL. DONT SUGARCOAT THINGS UP. Fact- bomb scare are everywhere. Safety issue is always unresolved. Altercations are always present especially in nightclubs/bar where young people hang out. That usually never happens when you go Cebu, Manila or abroad. Duh.

Kahit saan naman lugar my altercations and Iligan is not an exception, but I am a resident of Iligan for 26 years now and I can truly say Iligan is a beautiful place, period!

correct! what these people are talking about are simply hearsay. they haven't lived in iligan that's why they think it's dangerous. but if they try to stay there they will find out it's a very peaceful place.

Im from Iligan and Ive been to many places in the world. Layu ra kaung iligan as compared to other places. Luoy kau Iligan. Primarily because of safety issues. Christians love peace but sad to say others (muslims) don't. Its a fact.

proud rin ako sa mga taga iligan city, kahit sa Maria siquijor man ako pinanganak sa iligan city naman ako lumaki. khit nasa Manila man ako ngayon hindi ko parin nakalimutan magbakasyun sa aking HOME TOWN ILIGAN CITY LANAO DEL NORTE MINDANAO... iloveu sa tanang mga taga iligan city.... mabuhay tayong lahat GOD BLESS TO ALL..

this video is definitely very nostalgic. I am visiting in the beginning of the year 2014 for the very first time since 1996. Everything obviously is different now from what I can remember but I can't wait to explore :)
