I've had that oversized truck experience. It can be quite daunting. I hate organising post whilst being on the road or on the other side of the world. Zane burst out laughing at the seagull incident

Yeah the road trains could be a bit sketchy at times. Glad Zane enjoyed the seagull story!

Hi...I'm here for the McCoy boards, that 5 10" certainly can catch some waves. That's what I like about about Geoff's surfboards, the ease of catching waves! If I may ask... What is it that you like about McCoy surfboards. I ask genuinely! I see you have 2 in your quiver. Safe travels and may people be kind to you and your family on your travels!!! Stay upright. 🤙 Cheers.
@norman-gregory7 ай бұрын
Hi Pete...Do you recommend the 7 6" nugget all rounder single fin, as a Good Beginner board? I like the domed bottom, and as I've heard Geoff say... These boards are designed as a 3 sided plane = both rails and the domed hull. Listening to Mr McCoy talk on Ian Brown's channel on You Tube. The company now at Tweed Heads South...is very hard to get through. Not taking orders...busy busy. Appreciate any feedback. Cheers. ps...These boards are beautiful.

Don't know why the camera went weird towards the end 🤷♂
@westyboi18458 ай бұрын
The one thing I didn't enjoy bout SA was the waves breaking so far out. Not at all breaks but most beach breaks. Looked like a fun session. Loved the ride where you nearly hit the rock. Zane had a big chuckle with the "oh oh". Place has some nice frames
@PetePOV8 ай бұрын
They break so far out. When I got out of the water it was low tide and the main break was another 100m or so further out from where I was surfing. I sat more near the rocks and got the shorter ones but they had better shape.

I sometimes get vibes out in our South coastal beaches here in NZ. Our local is spectacular but ... I find it very difficult to be out there alone. It's just the nature of where we live, and like other commenters I think the limbic system is onto things and if my lizard brain is yelling at me to get out I just get out.
@PetePOV8 ай бұрын
That’d be so hard. I just don’t want to pshyc myself out of wicked surfs.

@aaaaaaasdee8 ай бұрын
Nothing wrong with paddling in sometimes if you're freaked out. The limbic system is really good at sensing danger. A few times after I got a sharky vibe I saw a shark in the water and on one occasion there was a fatal attack at the same spot the following day. Now I just go in if I start getting that feeling.
@PetePOV8 ай бұрын
But how many surfs will I miss out on around Australia? I think it was a few factors that made me feel uneasy. The 11 degree water, the fact I had to rock off, off a shelf to get to the break.

Flat day. Is that lake Jindabyne? I swam in that lake during the middle of winter. Next minute 5 cops show up waving there arms like crazy. Firstly called me an idiot. Then told me a lot idiots have gone for a dip during winter and ended up DOA. Apparently the temperature can be deceiving due to your body going numb. Which is exactly what I was experiencing. I thought it would just be like an ice bath
