That is correct, when Taylor left they went after mandel who appears as the other guitar player in some black and blue songs. They finally decided that Ron wood was a better fit because they wanted to change the style they had in the early 70s with mick. Then we have some girls with the full incorporation of Ron wood and their style certainly changed.

It sounds like to me, Keith overdubbed the solo's after the completion of the song. Good thing they took it out, in my opinion!

Ron's music pedigree goes back as far as jeff beck & it was the stones that wanted him ,who else would be the right fit especially as Keith had already played with the faces

I'm pretty sure it's Stew on this track, but Preston did a lot of work on the album.
