The Dusklight sidequest? I always wonder how many campaigns grab all of the extra bits they possibly can.

@podagainstthemachine5255 Yeah, they explored the Dusklight. Because my version of the Androffans were from the Star Wars universe, the escape pod looked like one that R2 and 3PO used to escape in A New Hope. They found schematics to reassemble it as a land speeder like the small troop transport used at Echo Base on Hoth in Empire.

They *were* on our website--but it's currently in the middle of a rebuild! What we have for the party is: Aluwen - [Ancestry Redacted] - Oracle/Sorcerer/Mystic Theurge Asher - [Ancestry Redacted] - Gunslinger/Paladin (there are a lot of archetypes in there...) Brixbi - Ysoki (Ratfolk) - Rogue/Wizard/Arcane Trickster Kera - Half-Orc - Bloodrager (Arcane bloodline)

Not this campaign for certain--even though more and more tech things are starting to appear in the 2e environment, this wild old version of the system remains Sam's first love--and the definitive format for this story. We're going to do more bonus/side stuff in 2e now and then, but not the main campaign.

@podagainstthemachine5255 OK, cool. I abandoned my 5e conversion and the campaign as a whole for now due to frustration and at my players' request. If my players really want to finish it in PF1 later on, I may give it another chance. I look forward to seeing how you all do in the next book as my group ended at its conclusion.

Sorry about your game--hopefully the conversion gets some kind of support, but I don't think it's *super* likely. I've been using the Iron Gods Interactive Map Folio. I turn off the grid lines and the labels and then take the biggest screenshots possible on a high resolution monitor, then important them into Roll20. It's a manual process, and it's a bit tedious to get right, but the results have been goodish. I'm hoping to start using Foundry, which makes the process easier, for book 4...we'll see if there's enough time to learn a new platform before then.

Thanks! We're having a lot of fun with the format. Always fun to sprinkle some stuff in the party doesn't know about (or some backstory things that no one knows about but the creator of the character), and I love keeping the pieces moving even when they're not on screen.

I rebuilt him as an alchemist. Felt like it made a bit more sense with his personality, and I love alchemists.

Clearly those suits are trying to steal our Big Bad Daddy flavor. Sam, for one, would never confuse a Swing band for a Ska band. It takes more than a horn section and a complicated name to put one over on this GM!

We've got a chart. They're always added on after the fact. Sam usually has a cache of floating ideas for context-building vignettes (like, say, the farmer seeing the weird thing flying by) that can fit in a range of different episodes, and then sometimes a specific episode calls for a very specific scene, be it from one of the player characters, or an NPC. And then sometimes a player has written a scene they want to do, and we work it in. It's been a lot of fun building these cold opens, and it seems like people like them.

@@podagainstthemachine5255 I see. So it's a way to give some more exposition after an important scene without spoiling any story points for the players. I've wanted to do a few scenes with a couple of former PCs traveling back to Torch together and dealing with some of the fall-out from the first adventure. I thought it also might be fun to have the players do another side quest, this time as those characters and maybe a couple of NPCs they've met taking on some threat that drives home the dangers the main party is facing.

Yup! Just the one Rogue level so far, but he wanted those sweet sweet technology bonuses.

@@podagainstthemachine5255 Sweet. The rogue in my group was a Numerian scavenger, too. When we converted to 5e, he took the Swashbuckler subclass, but I allowed the scavenger archetype abilities to replace the base rogue abilities. He's a D&D version of Star Lord, so it works.

Oh man, I hadn't even *considered* having Yurian played by Phil Hartman. That's brilliant! "I'm Yurian Valako--you may remember my from such salvage modules as Chrysalis."

Brixbi is a rogue at level one, but by the time we get to this one he's Rogue/Wizard /Arcane Trickster. Kera is the Arcane bloodline. Good luck with your Iron Gods run!
