We’ve reached a critical point where social detoxing needs to evolve to the next level. The traditional approaches are no longer effective, and even with new strategies in hand, it will take numerous discussions and episodes to address the depth of the issue. Our society, particularly here in Kuwait, needs a significant cultural shift to educate people on how to treat one another with respect and empathy. The levels of toxicity have reached a dangerous peak, and it's no longer something we can ignore.

The men were what we’d call in my culture... "wastemen." Honestly, I can’t fathom how the women tolerated them. Watching them form a pact to avoid being providers was downright pathetic. What’s the purpose of a man if not to provide and care well for his wife? Nour deserves to be named Woman of the Year, and Karma-chef’s kiss-was absolutely incredible. They were both shining examples of strength and grace. As for Dounia, she’s young and naive, and it seems she’ll have to learn the hard way. The man she’s with will likely drain all the light from her. I just hope she takes Nour’s words to heart. Did anyone else catch how Chafic tossed Dounia’s hand aside twice? First during the fight, where he actually shoved her, and then later when he was losing his mind on Nour or Karma. It was heartbreaking to watch.

You don’t “have to” do military service in Turkey anymore, you can pay out. If you went to university, in the past you just had to do 28 days of service, which is basically zero now. Also thanks Mia for quickly jumping in, agree that Turks are Balkans. We are not confused if we are European or Middle Eastern… Geographically we are in between, so naturally culturally we are also in between. We are Eurasian. It is not confusion, it’s diversity and our culture. It is a big and diverse country. You’ll find more Middle Eastern influences in the east, more Greek influences in the Aegean… Gender roles in urban areas are changing, not as rigid as in Gulf or rest of the Middle East (not even close)

To the people bashing Nader, as a woman so much of what he said makes sense based on the experience in the Middle East. It’s also not easy to keep providing for woman who don’t contribute and would expect the man to earn six figures.
@Sarahdza112Ай бұрын
Yes the fact he said woman choosing to be single are lost is mental 😅😅 that shows he doesn’t know any woman who’ve been through crappy relationships and would choose to be alone
@nh7568Ай бұрын
@@Sarahdza112 he also said he and men like him don’t go for women who have careers and would be threatened by a woman who earns more than him. If he is going for wallflower gold digger types, he has no room to complain
@HiHi753015 күн бұрын
Its reasonable. If they expect the man to grant all the woman's wishes and commands and be financially responsible for the family and household, who is going to ensure there's a warm meal to come home to? The man too? There is nothing wrong with ensuring your family is wellfed and house duties are fulfilled. No one is forcing you to be a trad wife. I know families where the wife works late hours, the husband picks up kids daily and returns home with no cooked food, the kids barely see her, and she doesnt contribute to any expenses. It's quite unfortunate that anything resembling a homemaker of sorts or a woman who takes care of the house and kids, is looked down on as a housemaid or babysitter job. A woman should also feel proud that she can maintain a home and feed her family as much as also having a career! Family works by give and take.

Newflash regarding rent..in kuwait you cannot rent an apartment as a Kuwaiti without a marriage certificate.

Recently found your pod - so fun! Was married years ago, now single, and have a *very* simple test for whether words or deeds are inappropriate / micro-cheating: If you wouldn't do / say something to a member of the opposite sex in front of your husband / boyfriend, don't do or say it when he's not around. Our husbands / boyfriends ought to operate by that same standard. *Really* simplifies the whole thing. For cultural context, I'm a woman in the U.S. :)

That is SO SMART! Love your perspective 💖💖 and welcome to the family ❤️🔥
@nh7568Ай бұрын
He said so many problematic things.. A lot of men do care that their wife has an interesting job, that they are driven, they can have interesting conversations and learn from each other. Having a wife that is intelligent and successful does not mean you are less than, or you are not a real man. Instead try being proud that you have a smart, hard working woman by your side to build a life with. I married a man like that so can confirm they exist.
@mariam..mariamАй бұрын
THANK YOUUUU. honestly, the way he talked about how the woman is supposed to be "less smart" and "less successful" than the man shows how fragile his sense of masculinity is. If you are threatened by a smart or a successful woman, you're just an insecure man. Your sense of manhood should not be tied to how smart or successful your wife is, it should come from within. Also, the point about getting married as soon as you meet the person before getting to know them properly and learn some of their flaws is ridiculous. Trapping yourself and the person you're getting married to in a marriage because to don't know or haven't accepted their flaws will just speed up the divorce process that you so openly condemned.
@resa309423 күн бұрын
he'll get divorced so soon

DISCLAIMER ALERT !!!!!!! This is not ISLAMIC RELIGION problem ,this is Arab culture men toxicity . The whole culture was very toxic for the women which was very disappointing!!!! The whole world sees this now., plus the emotional intelligence of these men ?? These men cannot handle a woman who can’t talk for her self.
