How could an acclaimed movie Pro like Stone get so many facts incorrect? Extremely insulting to the actual people who were there.

Can you give links to all Ustinov Poirot films please? Thanks for these clips! I think it wasn’t given the full film budget that DOTN had...and also tv types director/ producer - the beginning of the 70's crap naff dumming down of standards in films

Unstinov is Poirot...so subtle, a European, Nonchalant! I likd David Suchet, but Ustinov has almost lived the life of Poirot and it comes across!

Im watching it now I was crazy about this movie when it came out. The worst part of this movie is the script. It's unbelievable how bad it is. Just about every character he speaks to recites doors lyrics in their conversations with him. Its ridiculous

The part I liked in the first series were the characters. I avoid Jack the Ripper stuff like the plague. It's sooooo overdone. I didn't like the second series but it was the first time I heard about the Krays so it felt fresh to me. And I will always enjoy a show that gives Peter Serafinowicz something more than a cameo. I like the monster of the week format, so for me series 3 and 4 were much more fun. I don't like supernatural explanations in police procedurals, and I enjoyed that they came up with factual explanations after making a point of being cinematic and spooky. It's odd to say I really liked the show and at the same time I don't regret the cancelation. It became pretty clear to me that they were getting lost in the mythology. The old woman loose end would've gotten an unsatisfying explanation or no explanation at all in series 5.

Just aside from many things that didn't happen in reality, Oliver Stone insisted on bringing out Jim's dark and destructive side in the film. It is true that Morrison engaged in self-destructive behavior, usually when he was drinking. But he was a much better person and artist in terms of talent, generosity and intelligence than Stone shows. Jim is portrayed as a psychopathic alcoholic... People who knew him well know that the character portrayed in the film is not the real Jim Morrison... just a small part of who he was.

I watched a dubbed version of this film iin the mid 90's in an actual cinema in Germany. Must have been some kind of special or something I had read a couple of Tom Sharpe's books at that point and coincidently the airing fell together with me getting aware this movie exists. Really loved the film despite not being a huge fan of the first Wilt Story, so did the friend that joined me. I wasn't famlliar with the duo as i'm not british, but you could tell the On Screen Chemistry between the 2 actors is strong, so im not surprised learning about them working together a lot. TS is actually the only Author who made me laugh so hard that i needed multiple attempts to read pages as i was already laughing again before i even reached the spot where i lost it It's a pity he never managed to make an evenly balanced book. If he did i missed out on that one.

The doors movie is intresting in that it's a movie about a man with a drinking problem that feels like it was being told by a drunk, basically recounting a story with no respect to what it actually was but how the narrator feels about it and what they remember in that moment. It's vaguely funny if you don't consider it disrespectful to the dead

Oliver Stone played Jim as himself in the movie but he found a nice avatar in Mr Kilmer. In truth it gave our generation an image of rock'n'roll and there might not have been the 90s without it. I thought Patricia Keneally aborted JM's child and he wrote Maggie Magill about it.

It is a real shame that Oliver Stone kinda shitup the doors movie. I understand why they agreed to have it made and the movie most certainly gave the band another two generations of fans. I just wish it could have been done without all of the silliness. There was no real reason for it.

Very good movie. I’ve watch it several times. The only thing i don’t like is the electronic music at the end. It kind of works but at the same time it doesn’t. Anyways that doesn’t take anything away from a great classic. This might be very well the best anti war movie ever.
