I've loved this one for a long time. Cool to see it with the just four original guys; not the larger lineup with second guitar and keyboards. I wonder what year this was?

Genius. Eric Blau and Mort Shuman's translation of Jaques Brell's Next. I think this was the first time I heard a Brell song.

Fantastic stuff. i recall seeing this at the time as an 11 year old, and having seen a BBC production of Thomas Hardy's 'Barbara and the House of Grebe' a week before wherein the hero is terribly disfigured in a fire and wore a mask the string quartet here scared the crap out of me.

The whole music industry would be a much poorer and less vibrant creature were it not for his rare combination of humble, honest sensitivity, songwriting genius, and natural charisma. The understated, under-rated influence of this man's contribution, to not only music, butt he cultural identity of Scotland itself will never be truly appreciated. The name "BA Robertson" will truly echo down the years for generations to come.

10 year old Gran-daughter listened to this with me, and asked me, Granpa... why does he sound like he is going to cry? Well, honey, in my opinion it's because of what he wrote the song about. i think he was telling the story of when love finally came to stay for good. Then she asked... isn't love already here granpa? yes, but only in bits of places and pieces, does it choose to play. And as you will learn later on with your boyfriends... it rarely stays. He is not sad about love staying... He is singing from an aching place in his heart, about when "The Creator Of Love" returns to stay... and how we will all have enough of "His Love To Ride." R.I.P. Captain. i hear Frank Zappas' still not drink'in, but has drinks wait'in for us all. And i hear too... Tom's just a Waits'in.... for His Time to verify it. -gilpin 8-14-15 Letterman asked him why the name Beefheart? He replied... Cause I gotta beef in my heart about the way things are in the world.
