Gleefully counting down this set list while listening to the songs preach to me with highly attentive empathy, as if it's the first time I'd ever heard them, I got to the song Going Down and with a bittersweetness it occurred to me that each brilliant performance was one song closer to that unforseen and tragic destiny. Out of every famous person I've never met, he is the only person where I can remember where I was when I received the news and as if I had just just crashed head on with reality, I had to pull my car over to the side and sit for a long moment in disbelief.

It's such a gift to be able to watch Stevie play on u- tube! He was so very talented, in every aspect. His skill with his guitar's, and his voice was spot on. It's like his instrument was a part of himself. I'm a major fan of him, and his band. Tommy Shannon, Chris Layton, and Reese Wynans. Y'all were a powerhouse of talent. Thank you all!!!

To be honest, I think this version sounds like Stevie was off-placement of the phrasing during the guitar solo and certainly the ending are just …off. I wonder if the white powder and whiskey hit him just a bit that night

I didn't know they had ever released the full show. I will have to look up and get a full copy if it is still available. Stevie was one of a kind, and still difficult to believe it has been this long he has been gone. He was at the Gorge in Washington just a month before, and I had tickets, but was unable to make it there by personal reasons. When the news trickled through the morning of the crash it was first thought that Clapton and Cray were on board and possibly Stevie. And then around 7 am PST it was confirmed it was Stevie and Clapton's entourage. His music kept evolving and what he left still great today, what he might of done forever unknown, but I would like to think much better was still in the works of putting all types of music into how he would blend it into his own.
