Cool video! Do you think one of these is enough for a small room filming myself playing music for Instagram reels?
@Jameses3 сағат бұрын
Thanks! Yes, but you will need the lantern diffuser, the silicon filter will not be able to spread the soft light enough

I bought this product after watching a lot of videos that claimed that this is what you need for a lightweight “tripod” solution for travel, vlogging etc. first of all let’s call it what it is: it’s a glorified selfie stick and NOT a tripod. Under normal circumstances it can hold easily your phone and a small compact camera. I wouldn’t put anything heavier to it. Secondly it shakes like hell. I put my compact camera on it for a night shot and I had to put a 10 sec timer and it still kept shaking. Also the more you raise the telescopic column the more shake you introduce and it takes more time to stabilise. Now if you introduce wind into the equation forget about it. It becomes unusable. Even by attaching a phone to it, it becomes like a sail that catches wind and it shakes!!! If you take it to Greek islands on holiday during the meltemi season, which are extremely powerful winds, then this thing is simply unusable. I tried shooting a timelapse for a home video and it messed it up. I had to hold it with my hands to stabilise it and of course the footage is shaky and it shows. So take these comments into consideration before you buy it. For me this purchase was wasted money. I could have used my joby tripod instead and find places to give it the height that it’s missing.

@Jameses5 күн бұрын
It can. Bowens mount is pretty much a universal sizing for adaptive light modifiers and not brand specific

So ive got one and it's truly is a masterpiece in design, however i found one huge downside. It has only one button that is used both for taking a pic and turning the thing off, so a long tap doesnt record a short video and it would be way more convenient. You stated in vid that it isnt that sturdy as a tripod, and you were 200% right. I still dont think that there a better thing as small as this one, but im so used to 5-10 second videos i sometimes take instead of photos, im a bit sad it doesnt do that. Thank you again

An old video, but well presented. The way you demonstrated motion blur was very good I used to have a Pentax SLR, numerous lenses and filters etc so knew all about this sort of thing. Now though, probably like many folk I just use a phone to take pictures, but sometimes the exposure is difficult. I suppose I might have to get a cage then I'll have the ability of using ND filters. Trouble is I have an old Nokia phone (7+) so maybe I should upgrade before spending money on a cage.
@Jameses23 күн бұрын
Thank you! Yes maintaining the ND is not easy especially on phones where u need external mounts/casing for it

Came back to this, to see the difference between Pocket 2 and 3. Honestly, the Pocket 2 shines when there’s not too bright light. Which I agree with your reviews. I think due to shutter speed limit, Pocket 2 needs ND Filter.

Excellent review! How does this compare to the Ulanzi SK-04 in terms of stability? Is it shaky to attach a phone for video filming at its max height at 2mtr? Dou prefer this over the SK-04?
@JamesesАй бұрын
Thanks! The SK-04 will be more stable as it has 3 independent feet. For phone, no issue at all not shaky even at the highest as it was made to hold lights. In terms of portability yes i prefer it over the SK-04 but if i want to be extra safe in situations like if the place is windy or alot of crowds, the SK-04 will give me a better piece of mind.

hey james thanks for the review does the telescopic pole of the mt-44 retract if the camera weight load is too heavy, like if I have a full frame camera with mics etc ? I hear you mentioned that there's a twist lock at the bottom but from what I can gather it only locks the tripod feet in place is that right? Thanks
@Jameses2 ай бұрын
Yes it will. I don't suggest anything heavier than a kit lens with mic should be okay
@SergSpace2 ай бұрын
What prevents those telescopic section from folding back. Is there any lock mechanism?

Friction only. No, only for the feet there is a maroon lock.
