Hello Zack, I came across your videos last week. I’m grateful that your sharing your talent on these videos 😊 I’m learning quite a bit from you in doing my restoration of a 1977 Firebird Skybird in my Mothers memory. I sent an email to your website last week. Do you happen to read it ?

Yes, I could have sworn i responded back. If not I truly apologize. Thanks for watching and I'm glad the videos can help motivate you. The skybirds have always been an overlooked car that has a lot of potential.

Zack, I didn’t receive an email from you. That’s ok just wanted to see if you got it. I have to reevaluate what I’m going to be able to do. Parts are so expensive..‼️ I love the roadster shop chassis but don’t think I will be able to afford one 😅 Thank you for your reply to me. 😊

Hello, since it’s pro touring, did you consider shaving the marker lights? Thoughts on that? I have a 76 T/A roller that I believe I’ll have to shave, as those markers are so huge
@rogersrodworx4 күн бұрын
@chops6474 I personally like the shaved marker lights. I actually shaved them on my personal 78 that I'm building. We tinted the lenses on this car so they will blend in a little better with the black paint.
@chops64744 күн бұрын
Thanks for replying! Yes I look forward to the tinted lens look when you get to that stage. Also, looking forward to how specifically you address gluing/painting the rubber welting. (i.e. after sealer, before BC or after BC before CC?) I blow everything apart to paint and have never done a T/A before.
@rogersrodworx4 күн бұрын
@chops6474 if your referring to the welt on the quarter spoilers, these spoilers are flush fit from year one and don't use the welting. The ones we restore we glue the welt on and then paint and clear the spoilers and welting as one piece.

Following your T/A build since I bought a 76 roller that I’ll commence once I’m done with a 69 Camaro, but have a question. I plan on shaving the marker lights which is extremely common on first gen Camaro pro-touring cars, but very rare on T/A’s I’ve noticed. Did you consider that ? It makes the continuity look so much better. Thanks.

Hello I found your channel ( and subscribed) by searching for mini tubbing T/A’s. I am very experienced with 1st Gen Camaros ( qtrs-roofs-mini tubs-floors- rockers-tail pan- full body & paint) but am contemplating doing a 76 T/A next and I see that these newer F bodies are extremely similar. I am concerned that I’ll be underwater about a week into it so I’ll have to be content with that. Question on the Detroit Speed minitub: On 1st Gen Camaros we cut into the frame rails , but in return they can run really wide tires (335’s). Can you do that with a T/A? You mentioned a 12” wide tire ( which would be a 305) or did you mean a 12” wide rim with a say 325-345 size tire? Thanks in advance for clarity.

Great job guys! I'm curious, when welding in the new floor, aren't you concerned aome of the surface corrosion that gets hidden from the old panel will eventually start and come back again? No judgment, just learning
@rogersrodworxАй бұрын
We thoroughly clean the existing inner rocker panel before welding in the new floor. Once everything is welded in we go back and seam seal everything on the bottom and the top side. We then apply raptor liner to the bottom so it's sealed up tighter than it ever was.

Looking amazing man, great work! Those spoilers are a lot of work for sure. They look great. I want to split the spoiler on my 69 Camaro build because I hate how high they usually sit so they don't bounce off of the quarters if you slam the trunk lid too hard. I seen it on a car a while ago and I liked the look. I was thinking of mounting a spoiler in the stock location holes in the trunk and 3M prime and tape the end pieces onto the quarter in case the buyer wants to change it up. I was thinking of just cutting it, enclosing the ends with metal and fiberglassing the rest. Have you done it or seen it before or do you have any tips or tricks? Or suggestions like don't do it because it's a dumb idea or something like that? lol Thanks again and love the videos!
@rogersrodworx2 ай бұрын
I'm not a 100% on what your getting at. But I will tell you that I completely fabricated a new rear spoiler for my personal car. Reshaped based off of the original. I built it out of sheet metal and welded on. Now granted it's a custom car, but you could probably modify your original and keep it bolted on.
@adamscustomshop2 ай бұрын
@@rogersrodworx Exactly, I was thinking to take an original bolt on spoiler, cut it at the trunk gaps to make it three pieces, enclose the ends since they will be hollow basically, and then finish the pieces in fiberglass and shape them correctly. Then the two end pieces I would use the 3M Primer 94 and the 3M double sided trim tape to adhere the two end pieces on so I don't have to drill holes in the top of the quarter panels. You think the trim tape will do or would you bond in some studs to the pieces and bolt it on? Thanks
@rogersrodworx2 ай бұрын
@adamscustomshop the 3m tape would hold them, I believe. The pieces on your quarters would end up being small, so them in place.

Yes, we typically only use the fiberglass as an initial base layer. We them switch over to a plastic filler or bodno if you will to finish it out from there.
