My nephew was a truck driver once and he said that the company which hired him and the law were very strict…when on the road and seeing truck drivers drive carelessly…I nod my head as to…they must be stupid. You're right on the lease on part but that's if you're local driving, I dispatched myself when I would be otr. Then again you have to consider that if you have your own authority, you won't have the consistent local runs so it's basically the same thing bc you would have to go mainly of brokers if u have ur own authority

As long as you are underneath someone else’s DOT NUMBERS And INSURANCES they are literally and actually liable for Everything and Anything all you have to do is get popped and written up the tickets and fines are going to the DOT NUMBERS AND INSURANCE yup so for example you overweight like several Tons let’s say 10K overweight now that is a fine for Sure trust me because ,I Got Them !!! And what happens is the violation or violations are wrote in the system and it’s going to be a fine on the ticket or tickets so that DOT NUMBER is going to be in the system……. Now on the overweight tickets and fines we had 30 days to pay in full or they WILL Go out and pick up that Truck and impound it ((( Now that is a Owner Operator with their OWN INSURANCE AND EQUIPMENT-- I DON’T KNOW IF It’s with a leased-On how that works because we are not leased to anyone)))) but I’m sure a lease operator that knows about that part of the business would probably quit and leave and go get another Plate program and fuel card underneath another Authority and Dot Numbers and insurance…. Wow 😮 that is dirty but with everything said, it’s definitely on the Dot Numbers in the Federal System with the Dot and it Will go on their Insurance and trust me our insurance went from $300,000.00 to $400,000.00 dollars in one year it’s a big difference that is $100,000.00 Bucks just for insurance now that didn’t solve all the problems that caused it go up because you still have to pay for everything that was done alone the way rather it’s violations or fines or accidents it’s trucking and the more trucks you have the more money it’s costing you to operate now …… so the moral of this is DO NOT PUT YOUR INSURANCE POLICY OR YOUR DOT NUMBER AT RISK Because It’s too hard to make good money when you do something and you get stopped for a Safety Violation it’s over with Now Tires Seatbelts cellphone fatigue driving and etc it’s going to be expensive right THERE AND THEN AND IT’S GOING TO BE MORE EXPENSIVE WHEN YOU RENEW YOUR INSURANCE POLICY ……. FACTS You have to be Sharp so you see something illegal and it’s on your Insurance and Dot Numbers …… AIN’T NOTHING !!!
