Unfortunately we haven’t found a spelling program we love but recently trying spelling you see for our struggling speller. Just subscribed. Looking forward to seeing how the year goes. I also have a channel with tons of homeschooling content. I would love to be friends and connect here 😊

Thank you for this review. I really liked the History through Master Books and was considering the Language Arts so I appreciate the walk through of the daily and weekly plans. I've decided not to go with it because I too have boys who would extremely dislike day 4 and I don't want to dread that all school year long. I did My Father's World full curriculum for my middle child last year and for history there was the occasional "draw a picture and write a summary sentence" which would cause a fight and a melt down each time. Lesson learned here!! I love the scheduling and set up of Master Books and I'll probably continue to use it for other subjects, but Language Arts will be a no go for our family. I like the Charlotte Mason concept of the Language Arts and I think it could work really well for some families, but I have to face the reality of my family and it just isn't a good fit for us.

Thanks for sharing a lesson with us. Appreciate seeing how it works in action- love the instruction you are able to give from the teacher's manual. We are currently using Evan Moore and I often feel stuck because I don't know how to explain the spelling. This looks like it could be a better fit for us.

Commented before and coming back. We switched our English, reading, and math to BJU and have loved it. I’m switching a younger and I’m thinking of doing half second/half and then moving to third. Did this work out for you guys?

Thank you for sharing this! I grew up in a home that wasn't very intentional about Jesus and Christianity. There were good teachings here and there but no special traditions about Jesus. This helps me because now I have my own family and I want Jesus at the center of it especially when we celebrate His birthday. I appreciate you!

We do a morning read aloud while my kids eat breakfast or first wake up (sometimes both) but have to quickly move to the start of the “real” school day or we don’t accomplish nearly as much. Also, you seem upset in this video and I just want to tell you it’s going to be okay. Really, truly. We love master books science and I really wanted to love the others, but it just wasn’t enough. It’s so hard to walk away from because of how soundly Bible based it is. They do an amazing job with that aspect. We have had that same realization and swapped out choices. I stand by their science though. For your oldest, maybe letting him use a different curriculum than his sister would help. My oldest thrives on anything and our second daughter has dyslexia and SPD and just learns different. Tailoring the curriculum to work to the child has been so much better for us. It’s slightly more work for me, but much easier than teaching the same thing and it just not working. We also have a pre k and a 1year old. I know how busy and hectic it can be. It will work out though. The biggest thing to keep in mind is progress. If my dyslexic daughter were in school it would be modified to her and we’d just work to progress her. I wouldn’t get too caught up on where he “should” be. It’s really all relative. I hope that encourages you.

I’m just finding your channel, but I just want to say we are much the same in our teaching desires, aspirations/goals, and Children’s ages. I have a 4th this year all the way down to a just turned 1 year old. My second child has dyslexia and sensory processing disorder. You’re doing a great job!

If you're giving to children below 5, *personalised childrens books* make for nice gifts , especially when they don't have solid likes or interests - as you'd pique their interest into reading

I have a newly turned 2 years old who's also been sitting through older siblings lessons and does morning basket with us. He's been sneaking into his siblings books while they're looking at me, or begging for his own sheets. Do you think that's way above that level (totschooling)? I'm wanting to spend a little bit of time with him everyday but not concentrate on letters/numbers and academic.

I think the Stepping Stones would be good even if you have to break it up more to accommodate a 2 yr old attention span.

I’m think about making the switch from MB math to BJU. We are in MB level 1 about 3/4 through. Any help on which level we should go into with BJU? I’m don’t have anything against MB, but I’m so love the option of test you were talking about. Thank you
@DaninaFarmsNina2 жыл бұрын
I have found that MB is a level behind BJU. If you level down in BJU you may find that somethings in the beginning are review. We just move more quickly through the things they already know. But there was enough new in the level down that it was worth it to back up a level in BJU when coming from Master Books to make sure they really understood the concepts before moving on in BJU.
