Hello Rooster. I would argue that having a level 4 elite + range arclight shoot at chaff is not an efficient way to chaff clear. When they become this strong you can get cheaper chaff clear and transition them to stronger Dps with Charged shot

Is it that you "feel more comfortable playing agro" or that agro is just better? I dont see anyone above 2000 MMR playing standard anymore. Agro has far too many options and potential for tempo. Agro is boring to me so i climbed to top 100 in 501 and now have been doing 2v2 only
@RoosterYoutubeКүн бұрын
@@EssDubz I think aggro and standard are both equally competitive play styles at the moment. There are players like Flower Fairy (#1 world) who almost exclusively play standard. Top players like Red hair, n_sacco, B-man, Mathismight (to name a few) are often playing standard as well. The reason many people (including me) play aggro is because standard is very prone to mirrors, which can be difficult to manoeuvre and/or turn around once a player gets ahead. Aggro forces an imbalance and will result in less mirrors, giving both players more options overall. I also know that I am a worse standard player than the people I mentioned above, so I tend to play to my strengths.
@EssDubzКүн бұрын
@RoosterKZbin maybe I need to learn standard better since I see nothing but agro in my games 1900-2150 mmr. Haven't been able to crack elite levels yet. I just find agro has the pick of what they want to do and standard has to try to predict and also deal with round 1 asymmetry which almost always works against them
@RoosterYoutubeКүн бұрын
@@EssDubz You are right that aggro tends to be ahead early (which is the upside of playing asymmetrical). However, showing your hand early also means that the opponent has plenty of time to mount their defense (losing a couple rounds before stabilising doesn't matter if you win in the end). Aggro is weak to spells like oil as it cannot shield on the defender's side and will often have poorly defended towers which can be attacked. Aggro/Defense games are certainly more complicated than standard (long-range) games, at least in the sense that there are more variables. More units are playable, unit drops can provide immediate answers to problems (or not), spells may favour the aggressor or the defender. Card RNG is a bigger factor in these games than in standard. Getting to grips with all the different scenarios is something that only comes with experience, which takes time. I like that part though, as it keeps things interesting with a variety of available tactics. (P.S. I don't mind defending when I know I will get pushed. I just try to avoid the standard mirrors where possible)

Stormcallers with EMP/HE would be better answer for his slow defensive comp?

does portable shield item on the typhoon stack with the shield tech?
@ThomasErwin-zw9tw3 күн бұрын
Yes. The portable shield is an energy shield (which is for the unit itself only) while the shield tech is a barrier, which is a field around it. You can tell the difference visually.

For your first game against sacco I think you could have considered going Hacker on turn 6 (the one with fort drop) after you see all the extra spiders or even the turn before. It make the transition into giants awkward for your opponent and gives you enough tempo to add a new threat. Not sure if you had enough chaff clear to make it work but I think to together with an arc in the top left corner to pull the crawlers it would have been difficult to deal with. Possible followup could be emp(+elite) arcs and/or own giants.
@RoosterYoutube5 күн бұрын
@@TheSonicstar I like this idea! I've realised that on elite especially I should consider hackers more often as a viable unit. It is niche, but against spiders it usually does pretty well (and pairs nicely with mustangs)

Does Farseer Missile Intercept really stop an Overlords missiles reliably? Any time I try and intercept an Overlords attack, it feels like its completely wasted tech. They Overlord shoots too many missiles that travel too fast and deal too much damage. They tend to overkill most units (except giants) anyway. So even blocking half the missiles has negligible effect on the overlords impact. However, maybe I am just missing something.
@RoosterYoutube5 күн бұрын
@@zerex8375 You are correct. Even War Factory struggles to intercept overlords atm. It was mostly a hail-mary attempt to try and salvage a lost game 😅

Really cool tournament, and solid casting. My only issue is that I'd have preferred some suspense kept for the final game, even though you felt it wasn't a great game I feel like I'd have enjoyed a more typical cast rather than having the outcome known from the start. I feel like a short postgame analysis (what went wrong, how to play it differently) could provide most of the same information while keeping a consistent viewing experience. Long complaint but I really am enjoying the whole thing, and looking forward to more.
