I don’t blame you one bit. They are called eye hole jigs. If you like using the crappie nibbles this is the way to go in my opinion. I’m glad you found the video and discovered something new today!

A male crappie in his black “tuxedo” for the spawn. That’s basically a suit right?

This male crappie has his “tuxedo” on in the spawn which means his hormones give him a black pigmentation. So he’s kind of “wearing a black suit” if you will

They’re in there to track growth movement etc from the previous time they were caught. This one hasn’t been reported since it was tagged a year ago. So I let the gentleman who keeps track of it all know the updated information on location weight etc and turned her back out to grow bigger and spawn

Flooding can definitely make it harder to locate fish and get them to bite. It is possible though. Stay with it, you’ll figure it out!

These fish get called everything in Texas. Some call them bluegill, they’re not technically. Some say panfish…. Most call them perch down here, also technically incorrect. They’re considered a panfish, but so is a crappie. So whatever you want to call it, that’s what I was catching 🤷🏼‍♂️

Absolutely! I don’t mind catching them, they fight hard for their size. And you’re correct they’re very good pan fried. 🤞🏼 that I can find some big enough to keep soon!

I have been hunting my whole like but duck is new for us. It’s really good it reminds me of a good tenderloin if it’s grilled or chicken fried steak if it’s fried! It took about 2 bites for it to become one of my favorite meats lol
