ok games aside but how do you actually deal with mental fatigue after coding so much? I have suspicion about it having something to do with not understanding what you're trying to do, which leads to burnout, but I want to hear more experienced people.

I think a part is built up tolerance, and another part is staying conscious about it. Try to catch your fatigue early and take a quick step out of the coding/debugging all-consuming mindset. If it's been close to an hour, take a quick 5 minute break. That's what I do at least
