I guess it depends on who you buy it from. I bought a bottle from one seller and the post office kept it, so I'll be filing a claim to get my money from them. I bought another bottle from another seller and now have it and have used it.

@@KojiWoji_ it’s a very messy process. Make sure you wear gloves, the stuff took days to come off my hands a I would even mask off areas you don’t want the glue so that you don’t get black smudges on your window. If you can afford the suction clamps, do it. I used heavy duty magnets, which work well, but the glue gets on the magnets and it’s not fun. I also recommend doing it with the top clamped shut. I did it open as recommended, but when I went to clamp it closed I could hear it stretching in places I probably glued too tight. Sounds like I’m just a messy guy but I really tried to be neat, just needed more preparation. Because of all my issues I only completed 75% of the piece that was falling off. I was planning to finish it the next day, and didn’t get back to it. Glues dried up and I haven’t had the chance to re-order. It lasted about 6 months of constant top going up and down, and slowly it started splitting from the opening I didn’t glue. It’s over a year later and certain parts are still holding up. I’m going to try again and finish 100% of it. I think if I take my own advise into consideration it should hold firmly for long enough to make it worth it. New tops after installation fees can be over 1k if not more with the way things are going, so $100 on glues and clamps is a good deal.

The primer asures a good bond between the adhesive, the glass and canvas. A dauber is a means to spread the primer.

They tell you that because they want to make money off you. A new top will just have the same glue you already have...that's come unglued. Some Windo-Weld and Primer are reportedly several times stronger, and they're not making money off you.

Definitely! I have a tan top and it would have been a mess if I hadn't masked it off with painters tape and plastic shething.

Yeah, painter's tape right at the glue boundary line with 3x5 index cards or newspaper on the other side of the tape to give yourself *lots* of room to work with. The problem with tape and newsprint or cards is that he's using those suction cup clamps, which can make the tape hard to pull up.

That 3m primer is snome nasty shit. I use it for everything. Even makes 3m tape 10 times stronger.

Thanks for asking that. I was wondering myself. The primer apparently strengthens the adhesive and makes it several times stronger than when used alone. I just ordered both for my Solstice's back window.

do not let it dry. i let it dry 4 yrs ago nd it was hard as hell to cut it off with a razor. but here i am 5yrs lter and i have to repair it again. . always buy the primer.

thank you for the video. definitely helpful. just finished rear window glass reglue on neighbor's pontiac solstice convertible. a couple of suggestions with the sealy clamps. spin them around compared to orientation shown in video so that the wider spoon-like side is placed on the fabric of convertible. also recommend placing wood strips cut to appropriate length to span distance between sealy clamps to distribute the applied force over a longer distance. a standard paint stir-stick cut to length works well. pleased to report a successful outcome and major cost savings. neighbor reported getting repair quotes from local body shops starting at $1500 to upwards of $3000+ with no guarantee of success. many shops turned down the repair altogether. cost as a DIY repair: clamps (6): $40, primer: $32, windo-weld glue: $30, total $103. labor time: a couple of hours start to finish. definitely worth a shot as DIY project.

I did this method like 2 years ago. Its holding well however, today some small section came off. Most of it is holding well still though.
