From my experience it's always 89% there the rest is either been caught or fallen of the cliff i always go there to find ponys and i always see white uni's spawning but maybe some grey ones but i mostly find white ones you can grind uni in that spot if you want i recommend checking that place when there are lest people to have a higher chance of getting one without being found by someone else..... also if you leave youre horse when you tame it by feeding it, the tame won't disappear allowing you to get more food and no one can get the horse i did that for gargoyle i feed it next to the beach area i run back to spawn get a lasso and run back to it and i had to scare it to change the tame to lasso because i don't have enough food i think it has a timer but i won't reset to spawn if it's a glitch or something it'll best to use a fast horse to get to spawn and quickly get what you need and run back

You know that when you're in the middle of catching a horse, no one else can catch it? Unless you get far away, your entire catch progress will be reset
