To join the Air Force, you must live in the United States or an area that has an AF recruiter. You must also possess a 2-year, or 10-year INS Form I-551 (green card) and have at least 6 months or more remaining before the expiration date to join if you are not a US citizen. For Space Force, members must be a US Citizen to be eligible to join. Applicants must be between 17 and 42; meet the mental, moral, and physical standards for enlistment; and must speak, read, and write English fluently. The Air Force and Space Force does not bring applicants to the US to join. You must complete all immigration processing and get to the United States legally on your own. Can anyone provide the list of jobs that will be on the high demand list? I scored a 79 on my ASVAB, but I have to forfeit many of the job opportunities because of a waiver for a debt in collections. I really hate to do this. But I can stah where I am.

@IveysPressureWashing No one can provide you a list of future careers that will be in demand. There is no way to know, plus your Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test scores, physical exam, citizenship and moral standards determine your job/career qualifications. Until you have taken BOTH your ASVAB test and completed your physical exam. The Air Force does not know what jobs/careers you would qualify for. After you complete your physical the MEPS liaison will give you a list of careers you qualify for due to your waiver. Please contact your recruiter for further assistance. I graduated SF tech school back in October. Its a bit like this but its more Base Defense and less Law Enforcement. Its a bit fun but mostly crap. They bring back a lot of the garbage from BMT: reporting statements, marching as flights everywhere, needing a wingman, double timing everywhere (at Bullis), ALWAYS wearing eye pro/gloves, etc. Once i graduated and went operational, i came to really enjoy it. Nothing like tech school at all. So unless you dont wanna put up with BMT 2.0 for 3 months, dont choose this.

if it's OK to ask am planning on joining as a family nurse practitioner but I wanted to see if I get my education in the airforce would you be approved to get nurse practitioner psych nurse but when I called the officer recruiter and he wasn't sure because It has to be going up as in doctors degree not another master degree it's just I can't be psychic nurse practitioner or even go to school to get a dnp so if i would get my doctors it have to be in family practice as anyone went in as a fnp and got there phy master degree with the airforce

There are two ways, 1) If you have your BSN fron an accredited Nursing School and are accepted to DNP program you can apply for the Nurse Health Profession Scholarship Program. 2) A Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) must have one year experience as a RN that includes at least six months as a PMHNP. They have advanced skills, knowledge, and training and are credentialed to care for patients from childhood through adulthood with common or complex psycho/social conditions or mental illness. Well first off let's get one thing straight. All that material in your message was already known. It still doesn't answer the question. Why is something labeled "AIR" would want to make those kind of capabilities on the ground. It's just more money for the Air Force to spend. Is not a unit that is needed. Just like in Grenada. The only people that could communicate was marine and naval communication. Army couldn't communicate with Air Force vice versa. Navy couldn't communicate with Air Force. Army couldn't communicate with marine and naval units. Stupid planning. I know this cuz I did the hydrographic relay team before the invasion. So debrief and briefing is done with admiral Metcalf, general Norman Schwarzkopf was president. Why spend the money when you don't need it. Do you have army and Marine Corps capability right at your hand already.

Our chow runner was picked because he was the loosest screw in the bunch. We really thought we were the chit when we learned to do the sidestep. Did it a few times while shifting through formation outside the chow hall. I’m now in my 60’s and would love going through it all again. Oh, one other thing. We were in the “overflow” barracks. They were the old WW2 era barracks with no a/c. No hot water. We didn’t realize it all it was was a broken water heater until our last week of training. Nobody mentioned it all that time because we just figured it was all part of the drill. Ssgt. Sankowski was our squadron leader. This was back in 1979.

@skysthelimit7745 Unfortunately, this could potentially be medically disqualifying. However, the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) doctor (not the recruiter) makes that determination if you are medically qualified to join and any career limitations. You will need to gather your medical/pharmacy records for this condition and provide them to your recruiter. Then your local recruiter can have your medical records for this condition prescreened by the doctor at MEPS for a preliminary ruling in your particular situation. Some questions here: AF NG they travel/ get deployed for weeks or months, they can choose the place or you choose for them? Is the schedule gonna be the same for the time the contract is during? Security forces can get bonus once you join?

Reserve and Air National Guard (ANG) are normally part-time jobs with partial pay and partial benefits and normally where you currently live; you do not move. What mos sees the most action? I want to join the army bc of excitement. However the Air Force seems like a really respectable branch. Have a friend who’s in air traffic control and he loves it. Just can’t be in a chair all day.

Second, The Air Force has Special Warfare careers are Pararescue (PJ), Special Reconnaissance (SR), Combat Control (CCT), and Tactical Air Control Party (TACP). Only US citizens can apply to be a part of the Air Force Special Warfare.
