Thank you. I think I was 6th? One guy chased the eventual winner early and I never caught him and another stayed out front a bit. The guy I was behind most of the time left me after the forward facing camera died and ended up 2nd. I was overtaken towards the end of lap 2 and just couldn't regain my spot. Going for the first time in a few weeks, can't wait. Any advice is appreciated. Gonna warm up on chair 11 and then try off the top once warmed up. And maybe try one single black after if I have energy.
@MTBMOR19 күн бұрын
If you have more then 1 day take the free shuttle up to Horseshoe Lake and ride back. It's a long day so don't rush. If chair 2 is open use it to get to Brake Through. 7 Bridges, Boomerang, and Shotgun are really fun black trails. It's way more pleasant then going from McCoy. Richter can be ridden off chair 11 so it's a good black run to try without spending much energy. You can also pedal uptown and ride back downtown if you have time to kill without buying a park pass. My first day was just an adventure trying to enjoy the mountain. I didn't focus much on riding until the end of day 1.

Is your gear bike, shoes etc. different for doing this kind of race compared to other types of riding?
@MTBMOR21 күн бұрын
Yes it is. I'm racing on A Canyon Trail Lux. It's one small step away from a cross country bike and weighs less than 27 pounds. Today I rode my Fezzarri La Sal Peak that weighs over 33 pounds. The Canyon could have survived the trails I rode today but I would have been way slower. I once raced Over The Hump on a trail bike ( Giant Trance X ) and I really struggled. As for shoes, I have bad knees so I usually ride flat, but for racing I ride clipless. I'm open to chat more if there is something more specific you want to know.

@@MTBMORthank you brother I just switched from running shoes to flat about 6 months ago. I thought about doing a cross country race but am not sure if my Rocky Mountain Instinct with flat pedals would be sufficient for a race like that.....
