What a beautiful Outer Banks sunrise. Let's remember that a lot of people are suffering and likely dying on the other end of the state and that if you can, you should send donations to small local charities, especially churches, in the area, and PLEASE call your senators and representatives and the Biden administration, ask for more help as we send billions to both sides of foreign wars.

That home would had been gorgeous sitting in the mountains !!! Going to be sorry you put it so close to the ocean ,and on sand !Mother nature surge can be destructive!!

They didn't have a choice. It can't be moved into the mountains or very far as they couldn't tie up major roads outside of Rodanthe. The homeowner tried to save their home and it worked. I give them credit for trying.

Another great OBX video from Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Whoever you are exactly, you're an MVP for sharing all the wonderful scenery with us. If I won the lottery I'd buy one of the mansions on the sound front, the nearer to Buxton or Hatteras the better. Guess I should buy a lottery ticket(the fool's tax) occasionally.

It's really wild that aside from the Chesapeak Bay Bridge Tunnel, there's another 3-5 tunnel/bridge combinations that cross pieces of the Chesapeak Bay. I'm actually kinda happy to say I've crossed all of them iirc. I know I've done the big one, shown here once or twice, the crossing at 64 I've done numerous times coming from South the North after leaving NC for vacation, and coming down North to South, the 664 crossing from Newport News past the West side of Norfolk is where I normally cross on my way to NC. Kinda wild they made so many though... makes me think that where Pittsburgh, PA might be the city of bridges, the Newport News/Norfolk area is the city of underwater tunnel/bridge combos.

I am thrilled they are going to build a parallel tunnel on the Bridge Tunnel. Hate driving thru that thing with 2 way traffic and huge trucks coming from opposite direction.

The water is very fresh. It is organic sugar, which is unbleached, and makes the water look cloudy.

@@SaveCapeHatteras colored, raw, brown sugar water usually means evaporated cane sugar which contains minerals (iron, e.g.) which are harmful to hummingbirds.

i always made my own 'nectar' and the hummbertons seemed to like it WAY more than any red store bought crap. id use about a 6:1 ratio water to sugar. so for 6 cups water, id add 1 cup sugar. boil the H2o , add the sugar. cool it (especially if you have plastic feeders, i messed that up once).
