Hi how do i get into a job in the maritime industry with no experience no maritime industry licenses or qualifications?
@m.leinewolczko5 күн бұрын
I'm working on a video idea for this. But firstly, go on Google and look up how to get a TWIC and an MMC. You need both of those things to enter the industry. They will take a few months to process

i dont understand how you convert compass bearings to true bearings do drmc on ships not have deviation ?
@m.leinewolczko28 күн бұрын
This video is about finding the deviation of your magnetic compass, not converting magnetic to true. We get our true heading from our gyro compasses, and can find deviation through the equation TVMDC. Also, I believe drmc is an aviation term.

Madeleine, this is by far the best video I've seen - regardless of provider (KZbin, other streaming service, or TV broadcast) in at least 2 months. I am almost exactly the same age as Pat. The only life-experience that even got me *close* to container ships was helping to deploy specialized sensors at shipping ports, while working as a scientist, in the early 200Xs. It was captivating to "ride along" with you and Pat on the Cosco Jeddah, and to see just one example of how very different one's experiences can be, depending on one's choices, at each of many times in a person's life and career. Thank you for taking me there.

Thank you so much for those kind words! Yea, I really love contemplating the different choices we make and how they lead to drastically different paths. Life is so cool 🙌
